Voters in three critical swing states, Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania, support legalization of medical marijuana by margins of 5-1 or more and also support legalization of recreational marijuana use by smaller margins, according to a Quinnipiac University Swing State Poll released today.
Support for medical marijuana is 84 - 14 percent in Florida, 84 - 15 percent in Ohio and 88 - 10 percent in Pennsylvania, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University Poll finds.
The Swing State Poll focuses on Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania because since 1960 no candidate has won the presidential race without taking at least two of these three states.
Support for allowing adults "to legally possess small amounts of marijuana for personal use" is 55 - 42 percent in Florida, 52 - 44 percent in Ohio and 51 - 45 percent in Pennsylvania.

Have you never watched the cult classic film “Reefer Madness”? From back in 1938? It’s pretty hilarious. Roll one & smoke it while you watch, but be sure to grab some popcorn or something else to eat while you’re at it:
All of them. It makes you stupid (sure, if you ignore all the successful gold medal winners, Republican politicians and businessmen, etc. that use it). It makes you lazy (again, only when you ignore the successful folk that use it).
You and I have gone rounds on this. You insist on basing your opinion of MJ on lies and propaganda. Sobeit. I won't change your mind. Unfortunately, I don't believe the truth about MJ would change your mind, either, since you are set on believing that Reefer Madness was a documentary. That's fine. Bottom line? Don't like MJ? Don't partake. Your anti-stance makes zero sense.
It is the same as makes not much difference. When the British were importing thousands of tons of opium into China, they probably never contemplated it's usage as a weapon, they only wanted to make money.
Hmmmmmm...I've been smoking pot for over 35 years now & never knew it was a threat. Thanks for telling me.
What an absolute fiasco it is in colorado . You never hear about it but much but it’s become a pig sty in the area where we have a place. Every piece of dung thinks they’re gonna get rich and high. Squatters all over the place. Problem is the kind of people it attracts. They are still buying/ selling underground to avoid taxes.
You mean that some people have a sort of natural immunity to the effects. This does not make the general case wrong, it just means that some are not susceptible.
For quite a lot of people, stupid and lazy are exactly what it does to them. I don't consider that a false claim at all, in fact that is exactly what I have observed of all the pot smokers I know.
You and I have gone rounds on this. You insist on basing your opinion of MJ on lies and propaganda.
Lies and propaganda? You mean what I have seen and continue to see with my own eyes?
This one guy whom i've known for some years just got stopped for speeding at night with a broken tail light. He was driving under a suspended license. (Already had two other court cases for this same offense in the last six months.) He had 60 grams of weed, and is now going to end up in Prison. He's 21.
I have repeatedly told this guy to STOP BEING STUPID. When he got stopped the first time for driving without a license, he had insisted on driving a "Ghetto cruiser" old school Cadillac with 20" rims. I told him that car was a magnet for cop eyes, and he ought not drive it if he was going to be smoking/dealing weed.
He did it anyway, and got pulled over, and was then discovered to have been driving under a suspended license. On the way to appear in court for this offense, he once again insisted on driving this same "Ghetto Cruiser" (Instead of letting his girlfriend drive. She had a clean license. ) and got stopped by the exact same cop who stopped him before.
Now he has two driving under suspension charges. (And believe me, i'm shortening up the list of his bone headed and stupid encounters with law enforcement that were utterly preventable.)
So this weekend, he decides to go speeding with a broken tail light at the exact time of night cops are always looking for drunks (Late Saturday night) and he catches one.
No, there are no lies or propaganda involved. Weed does indeed make people stupid and lazy. This characteristic applies to everyone I know personally who smokes weed.
Since the articles and clauses in the Constitution are numbered, can you point me to the one you think empowers the federal government to ban a naturally growing plant.
You aren't grasping the significance of there not being a "no poison gas" clause, are you?
Hmmmmmm...I've been smoking pot for over 35 years now & never knew it was a threat. Thanks for telling me.
I'm guessing that's why you can't understand the point explained above.
The media certainly isn't talking about it. That's much of the problem we see in this nation nowadays. The media cover up bad news about their ideas, and go out of their way to create bad news about their opponents.
Actually, under the 10th amendment any power not specifically delegated to the Feds are reserved the the States.
Another 'conservative' arguing for unlimited government...
Right after you tell me which clause bans nuclear, biological or chemical weapons. You go first.
Sure, that's what causes the problem. Couldn't have anything to do with the fact that your buddy is a class one idiot (you really need to find better friends). Like this one time, a gun jumped up and put itself in someones hand and started shooting other people. It's definitely the gun and has absolutely nothing to do with the dumbass behind the trigger, right?
The 10th amendment does not grant states the power to circumvent the United States in it's efforts to defend the population from dangerous foreign or domestic threats.
Doncha know? Big Gubmint is perfectly fine with Conservatives, as long as it's THEIR Big Gubmint.
He started smoking weed at a young age, and he is more of an acquaintance that I happened to have liked rather than "a friend."
It's definitely the gun and has absolutely nothing to do with the dumbass behind the trigger, right?
When guns have direct pharmacological effects on the human brain, you will have a point. As they don't, you don't.
Conservatives believe government should remain within it's proper function. Stopping dangerous drugs is a proper function of government.
Oh but they do affect the chemical balance. I know I feel much more secure when I have my pistol with me, as opposed to when I don't. That sense of security comes along with "peace of mind" resulting from chemical changes in the brain.
Oops. I forgot the question mark at the end of “pot is a weapon”.
“We, in Florida, voted down legal pot in 2014”
Yep but right after the law firm of Harrell and Harrell vowed to continue to fight on for legalization in Fla. I’m afraid this is one of those things we’re gonna have to defeat over and over again.
That's certainly arguable, but let's just say, for one moment, that you are correct in that assumption. Seems to me they are not doing a very good job of it. In fact, FedGov sucks in general at any kind of prohibition, apparently. Seems like prohibition only leads to higher crime rates, black markets and promotes general discord. Apparently, you don't care for the rule of law, seeing as how you yourself support black markets and higher crime rates.
