In a statement to The Morning Call, Pawlowski, a Democrat, said he feels he has a lot to offer in Washington. He hasn't made a final decision yet, but an announcement is expected in the next two weeks.

"I have a lot to think about and will be giving the run the serious consideration that it deserves," Pawlowski said.

If he runs, the mayor would be vying for a seat now occupied by another notable Lehigh County resident: Republican Sen. Pat Toomey. A formidable fundraiser, Toomey would have the advantage of incumbency in the 2016 race. And Pawlowski, whose fundraising efforts have been mixed, would need Lehigh Valley contributors already on Toomey's list.

The city he runs is basically a sanctuary city, with the trash from NJ and NY coming in to make life miserable.

His most recent "accomplishment"? "Banning the Box" on job application forms for city employees, so that felons have an easier time getting access to your records and your home. Great idea/s

Posting this article because anyone who sits out of the upcoming election will allow this clown to waltz in. As much as I dislike Toomey for what he did to us on guns, allowing this POS in would be far worse.

A close friend is a native of Alkentown, and when her parents were still living, I would sometimes accompany her on her visits back home. The area where her parents lived wasn't bad, but my friend would not go into Allentown proper. It was a cesspool even back in the 1980s.

I suppose Allentown is typical of a number of cities which depended on blue collar industries. When those industries folded, the town fell apart. Unfortunately, these towns are stuck with socialist Democrat leaders who are running these towns further into the ground. An influx of the free stuff crowd doesn't help, for they will always vote Democrat.

Hard to believe that I grew up in Whitehall and graduated from Central Catholic on 4th and Chew.....Yieks that has always been bad but now I hear it is a war zone. My nephew goes to St. Joe’s in Orefield and will be going to Central Catholic later. Whatever happened to building a new school in Center Valley...they talked about that 25 years when I was attending. Central Catholic seriously needs to get out of center city Allentown and build ANYWHERE.

I predict Joe Sestack will crawl out of his worm hole to run against Pat Toomey again. The Allentown mayor is simply too small a rat maggot to win a statewide race.
