You knew this was coming. Created in the panic after Sept. 11, and even as Muslim “immigrants” flood into the United States, the Dept. of Homeland Security has nothing better to do than to watch the rest of us:
The Department of Homeland Security is seeking bids from companies able to provide law enforcement officials with access to a national license-plate tracking system — a year after canceling a similar solicitation over privacy issues. The reversal comes after officials said they had determined they could address concerns raised by civil liberties advocates and lawmakers about the prospect of the department’s gaining widespread access, without warrants, to a system that holds billions of records that reveal drivers’ whereabouts.

Bush did not concoct DHS, Congress did that and forced it on him. He argued in several different speeches that it would put another layer of bureaucracy to emergency situations. He put a person in oversight of the different agencies which dealt with these kinds of situations, but did not want a new agency. This was Congresses idea to show they were doing something. Thanks for setting the record straight wbarmy. I fear it's trolls pushing that lie... It's part of the 'they're all the same' meme...

The Office of Homeland Security was the person Bush put in charge. The Department of Homeland Security was the agency that Congress forced.
