There is no answer - when we were Mormons, our bishop started lies about me because he was a control freak. I went to the Stake President, who claims the Bishop wouldn’t do that, so I sent it to Salt Lake, and they sent it back to our Stake President who ignored it. Our Bishop claimed that “Since I am the Father of the Ward, I know what’s best for your family better than YOU do”. Vicious circle, and nobody cared.
Wife then got a choice - them or me. 23 of us walked away - Us, kids, grandchildren - nobody cared.

I’m sorry they did that to you but glad you and your lovely family escaped...

The Morg has been bleeding for the last few years...closing missions and adding lots of girls and lowering the starting age and the qualifications and standadrs..

Hornet 22- I have similar horror stories about these kinds of disgraceful actions on the part of “the Mormon Lay Leadership.” Some of these useful idiots who are “called” to be “leaders,” let it go to their head. My wife’s father ( who was not Mormon but worked for a group of them) was fired from his job on trumped up charges of “business mismanagement” because the employer group needed financing and got it from the church on the condition that they replace my FiL with a Mormon.
Mormons do “discriminate” as do most other religions. Seems as though the route to get “your religion greater recognition,” is to denigrate all others. As I see it, the televangelists are probably the most honest in that they make no pretense about it being a “business” and being all about the money involved.
I mean didn’t some Black “TV minister” ask his “flock” for millions of dollars the other day because his private jet needed replacement?

One thing that I have always seen with people that leave the Church over some offense...generally they were looking to be offended. And it never includes fastening and prayer. Lots of pride, very little humility.

What you're not saying...is how many times your ward tried to reach out to see what was wrong, how you were doing, etc...

The Bishop that offended you, if he did anything truly wrong, repented, learned from it, grew from the experience and is a better person.
