Taiwan does not want to become part of communist China, they see what happened to Hong Kong (Beijing promised them some autonomy for 50 years and now pretty much appoints their government)
I don’t follow Tiawan that closely, so you may be right. I hope they did go to school on Hong Kong. Then again, they should have known even before that how that would turn out.
I can understand Taiwan thinking it rightfully should be the leader of all China. I do think prudence is called for, and I agree with your take on the two nation concept and dynamics.
China isn’t going to give up forever IMO. Taiwan is living on borrowed time. I just want to make sure they actually understand that.
