The Rout of Conservative Christians
American Conservative ^ | April 1, 2015 | Rod Dreher

To no one’s surprise, Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R-Walmart) caved on the state’s RFRA. Excerpt:

Facing a backlash from businesses and gay rights advocates, Gov. Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas on Wednesday called on state lawmakers to either recall or amend legislation billed as a religious freedom measure so that it mirrored a federal law approved in 1993.

They have in common that they love Jesus and seek to follow him.

If "they love Jesus and seek to follow him" as they claim, they're certainly not following him very closely. Jesus never suggested that his followers practice sinful homosexual acts that are clearly forbidden by his father, aka God. If the total destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah's homosexual populations didn't make God's law in re homosexual acts clear enough, the drowning of millions of debauched antediluvians in what is often called Noah's flood should.

See ch 1 vv 24-27 of Paul's epistle to the Christians in Rome for more information about the real reasons why God destroyed the ancient world and it's people with a universal flood. I know, I know, a universal flood isn't what most of today's denominational seminaries teach and their graduate pastors preach. But it's what God's Word teaches, and He was there and they weren't.

Amazing how easily 2% of the population controls the other 98%

You misunderstand the issue, and what's being disputed.

What "gay rights" represents is the right to f*** who you want, how you want, when and where you want, pre-existing arrangements notwithstanding, and with the consequences someone else's responsibility.

The percentage of the population who follow that principle is not 2%.

“I have heard that,”We got guns, we will fight” for 20 years.”

And I have heard that the leftist commies will throw us in camps for 30 years.

Conservative Christians aren’t being routed per the headline. Gutless Republican politicians are. Conservatives ARE watching and they ARE NOT happy.

Maybe this is the issue that will FINALLY wake up people of faith in this country to stand up and fight for Biblical teaching and perhaps even remove from office those who talk a better game than they play (are you listening, Mike Pence?)

It’s about time.

That’s it? Just ask prayers? How about fighting back? Can’t have that. People may thing that we’re not a bunch of “WUSSIES”. What happened to our warrior saints? Have they just fallen asleep? The inactions of all these “WUSSIES” we call, “RELIGIOUS LEADERS” is something to behold. This is a call to action, in other parts of the world. Just imagine if there was a war on MUSLIMS, the way there is a war on CHRISTIANS? Now, understand this, there are only 2 million Muslims in this country, but I’m sure they can have 10,000 Muslims to go in the field, whenever a Muslims rights have been violated

As I keep saying...for most it is “money before morality.” If it hurts the pocketbook, they no longer see the importance of morality. What is worse is that they don’t respect the “constitutional” rights of religious conservatives.

We need to mount a “boycott Walmart” movement. They have NO BUSINESS telling the Governor what to do if they want conservative Christian business (or the business of others that respect the 1rst Ammendment). I doubt that many homosexuals frequent Wal-Mart.

There are times a secular business (especially one that is supposed to be family catering) to stay out of a fight.

...and I suspect we will hear it for another 20 years...

The percentage of the population who follow that principle is not 2%.

You've identified the 'principle' correctly, and the percentage of followers is probably over 50% right now.

If anyone wants to know why conservative Christians have a hard time uniting to defend culture, simply search ‘Manhattan declaration’ on Free Republic, and read some of those threads. That happened around 2009, when there were less than ten states with ‘gay marriage.’

I had forgotten about the Manhattan Declaration. Looks like it was nothing more than a flash in the pan.

How exactly does a family “fight back” against threats their sons may be raped at school? Warrior saints? It is not yet time for those. The best warriors fight on their knees, for now. The pastor and his family continued to speak out against the evil, enhanced their security and other things.
If there is not a war on Christians I would be worried. Jesus said Himself it would be so.
This is not about Islam. Islam is a false religion of hedonistic enslavers. Because in their hearts, people don’t believe the god of Islam, there is not a war against it.
I guess I am not understanding why you are saying Christians should be like Islamists.. go to war. War against exactly whom? War must be carefully planned and executed against a well defined enemy. That is only one aspect, but I use it because that is why the US is struggling in war.

My point was that many conservative Christians simply wouldn’t sign it on account of what other conservative Christians did sign, namely Catholic and Orthodox. So it’s not like it was anything like fully supported from our side to begin to judge whether it might have been effective or not.

When these people can muster hundreds if not thousands of “RENT A MOB”, a “SHOW OF FORCE”, why can’t the Christian community do the same, but a larger crowd? According to the population, we have them by 80 to 20. Show, even the Lame Stream Media, the massive show power of the Christians. Also, our “RELIGIOUS LEADERS???” should be out there every day, speaking as loud as they can, of this unfairness. I would call them “WARRIOR SAINTS”.

We don’t need a mob, a crowd... We have Jesus Christ. We have the truth. If you speak the truth you don’t need to impose it with force, that would be admitting you are wrong. I am saddened that some churches have exchanged the truths of The Bible for ease and comfort. There are plenty of Christian Leaders standing up.. they don’t get to make the talk show circuit, unless they are the nutty variety.. so you don’t hear about them. I especially loved Billy Graham’s last message.. The Cross offends. He stated things in a unique way, not to stir up discord, but with love and one last heartfelt cry to the lost.

If we are willing to wait one or two hundred years, until these people are defeated, I guess you would be right. But with ISIS and the Muslims on one side and these LIBERAL, SOCIALISTS and COMMUNISTS on the other side working in tandem to eliminate Christians and Jews, we need another plan. We need a plan to unite these two, to rid the world of these two very evil entity
