Southern California athletic director Pat Haden will not attend the College Football Playoff selection committee meeting in Indianapolis this week because of a new Indiana religious-freedom law that critics fear could permit discrimination against gays and lesbians.
Haden posted on Twitter at (at)ADHadenUSC: "I am the proud father of a gay son. In his honor, I will not be attending the CFP committee meeting in Indy this week. (hash)EmbraceDiversity."

Why is this news? I have skipped meetings myself, and it did not make the AP wire.
Don't tell me, you're close pals with Bruce Jenner too!
He was a pretty good QB back when. But has anyone heard of him in forty years?
Your fifteen minutes of fame lackey.

I imagine that if Haden had gone, the USC faculty and USC’s Hollywood donors would have been hysterical. College administrators are not known for courage. It is so much easier to just go along with the PC crowd.
I hope some USC donors complain to the school about Haden’s action...Maybe some donors care about traditional values?
By the way, the USC football team would visit South Bend, Indiana on 10/17 to play Notre Dame...
Maybe Haden should threaten to cancel the game unless Indiana legislature repeals the new law...Why not? If he is really angry...
Pat Haden must have played a little too much football with his helmet off; he’s even dumber than Gerald Ford.
Pat, what are you going to do on October 17, 2015 when USC is contracted to play at Notre Dame? Last time I checked, ND was located in Indiana, too.
