By a nearly 2 to 1 margin, Americans support the notion of striking a deal with Iran that restricts the nations nuclear program in exchange for loosening sanctions, a new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds.
But the survey released hours before Tuesdays negotiating deadline also finds few Americans are hopeful that such an agreement will be effective. Nearly six in 10 say they are not confident that a deal will prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, unchanged from 15 months ago, when the United States, France, Britain, Germany, China and Russia reached an interim agreement with Iran aimed at sealing a long-term deal.
Overall, the poll finds 59 percent support an agreement in which the United States and its negotiating partners lift major economic sanctions in exchange for restrictions on Irans nuclear program. Thirty-one percent oppose a deal.
Support outpaces opposition across nearly all demographic and political groups, with liberals (seven in 10) and Democrats (two-thirds) the most supportive. At least six in 10 independents and moderates also back the broad idea of a deal with Iran.

There is a difference between “the” Deal or “a” Deal.
Trust but Verify comes to mind when dealing with Islamist’s whose Religious Teachings say that it is acceptable and necessary to LIE to Non Believers to further the cause.
The premise of the question is a LIE!!!
“that restricts the nations nuclear program in exchange for loosening sanctions”
There are NO SUCH RESTRICTIONS!!
Why would a lying Iranian gov’t comply with an agreement that is all carrot and no stick?
He sounds like the kind of guy who will end up on a Youtube Video wearing an Orange Jumpsuit awaiting his fate.
You win. The question is whether he has read Marx. Most of them have not. None of them have listened to Rush.
Support what deal? The deal that is not written and Kerry said was not enforceable?
Low info folks couldn’t find Iran on a map, or describe their radical rulers. The less you know, the less you’re concerned.
They must have “polled” the same clueless eggheads that Jesse Watters interviews for his “Watters’ World” segments on O’Reilly. The real low information types.
> All the factors you mentioned are in play, especially the “poll was taken by a leftist MSM source solely that already had its final answers before the poll was taken.”
I hate to say it but a lot of the educated fools may be knowledgeable in one or two particular topics but they are completely stupid to the ways of the world and have no real concept to the depravity of men in power who will tell them anything or promise the world to them while lying and doing whatever it takes to get the job done. The young gullible crowd got this monster elected and kept him in there and they STILL believe his lies because he smiles and winks, dresses fashionably and rubs elbows with celebrities. They don’t pay attention to one iota of his lies, actions or history. He has the race card to play every ime if anyone questions any of the above.
So, when country “d” and country “e” flatten each other and the radiation drifts HERE, uh, who you gonna “glass”?
Talk about a damning comment on the logic our educational system is teaching: People don’t believe a nuclear deal with Iran will work, but they support it anyway.
Agree with your assessment. Education of Truth is the key. We have to work harder to reach the young people.
Iran has sought to destroy America since 1979- its time to destroy them- one installation at a time- send IED’s to be planted in their streets as they do in Iraq- remove the idiots in power or leave them naked for generations-
the generals in Iran will overthrow the leaders in order to save themselves
Once we get rid of a crazy Iran we can live in peace-
Further polling found that 5 in 7 thought Iran was the past tense of Irun and 8 in 9 did not know what past tense meant
This is the usual Partisan Media Shill approach -- Americans want a better educational system, THEREFORE they support Common Core.
