Elizabeth Warren, in Edward Kennedy’s seat, displaces Obama as liberals’ champion

In early 2008 liberal icon Edward M. Kennedy blessed Barack Obama’s long shot presidential campaign, declaring the freshman Illinois senator the next great progressive leader in a symbolic passing of the torch.

On Monday, Mr. Obama heads to Massachusetts to honor Kennedy, who died in 2009 — but liberals’ enthusiasm for the president has waned from those days, and the left has moved on to other champions, most notably Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who now sits in the seat Kennedy used to hold.

I don't think the Dems can run a white man unless it is someone truly exceptional. The black man has been done, a Latino is possible, that leaves a woman. And it has to be an extremist. She fits the bill and let's remember, Barry didn't exactly excel at accomplishments prior to 2008. It is their way of thinking.

In case you haven’t noticed, the Democrats have been hemorrhaging white blue collar and middle class voters. Warren is tapping into some good old-fashioned, classic Democrat Party lunchbox and hard hat populism.

The only reason Obama is president today is because about a third of the American population saw him as the "magic negro." He was "safe and clean."

I don't see how Elizabeth Warren will tap into that vein. She's going to be the "magic white Indian?" Seems like a long shot. On the other hand, I thought Obama was a long shot too, shows you what I know.
