Immigration ‘reforms’ need to be summarily overturned.
What about the unskilled workers? Don’t they need protection too?
One has to wonder where Hatch is on this after reading one third illegals are farm workers and one sixth construction workers are illegals in Utah. Hanging offense /s
Really; are they just supposed to accept the high unemployment as a result of the illegal bracero invasion?
I wouldn’t be surprised if the focus on protecting skilled workers is a result of the hesitation on the part of many young people to invest time & money in schools/training if the jobs will jut be given to foreigners anyway. Mexicans are the replacement unskilled workers; Asians are our replacement white-collar workforce. Whether you are a carpenter or an accountant, employers will find somebody that can do 60% of your job - for 50% of the pay.
yes
H-1B Kill it.
The 2.62 number is the main one that I looked at but I noticed that two people mentioned a 183 number from the same working paper. On page 2 of Bjorn Billhardt's testimony, he says that [s]tudies show that for every 100 H-1B workers, an additional 183 jobs are created for workers born in the United States." I don't know how a single working paper became "studies". In addition, Senator Charles Schumer states the 183 number as established fact at about 32:22 into the video. I've added all of those references to a list I've posted at this link. I also replicated the 183 and posted the analysis at this link. As shown there, the results depend heavily on the span of years that is studied. For example, if one looks at 2002-2009 instead of 2000-2007, you get a LOSS of 121 jobs instead of a GAIN of 262 jobs. Funny how the study happened to pick the very best span of years!
too bad that this claim that H1B VISAS create more jobs, doesn’t tell you what those jobs pay, how many hours they give?
Hell sending those two engineers who had their jobs stolen, to work at a coffee shop for 8 dollars and hour ...15 hours a week IS NOT GOOD FOR AMERICA.
THANKS FOR DEFENDING AMERICAN WORKERS
