The National Black Church Initiative (NBCI), a faith-based coalition of 34,000 churches comprised of 15 denominations and 15.7 million African-Americans, has broken its fellowship with Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA) following its recent vote to approve same-sex marriage.
The Presbyterian General Assembly, the top legislative body of the PCUSA, voted last June to revise the constitutional language defining marriage. This arbitrary change of Holy Scripture is a flagrantly pretentious and illegitimate maneuver by a body that has no authority whatsoever to alter holy text.
Rev. Anthony Evans, NBCI President noted:
"NBCI and its membership base are simply standing on the Word of God within the mind of Christ. We urge our brother and sisters of the PCUSA to repent and be restored to fellowship."
"PCUSA's manipulation represents a universal sin against the entire church and its members. With this action, PCUSA can no longer base its teachings on 2,000 years of Christian scripture and tradition, and call itself a Christian entity in the body of Christ. It has forsaken its right by this single wrong act.
"Apostle Paul warns us about this when he declared in Galatians 1:8 that there are those who will preach another gospel.
"For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. ... For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
"No church has the right to change the Word of God. By voting to redefine marriage PCUSA automatically forfeits Christ's saving grace...

Well look, if they got this right, then they ought to be blessed.
When someone does something right, I like to praise the right act—not wait until they’re perfect. :)
In the early 70’s the Presbyterian Church, PCA was formed......( after breaking away from the mainline ( & what was becoming apostate ) USA Presbyterian.......
.....and I’m thankful to be a member for 27 years,
Yes, know Blacks like this as well. An articulate Conservative can earn their vote as they are disenchanted with the extreme Leftism embraced by the Dems and obama.
Why leave the gay chuch? They vote the gay party 98%.
Nope
Any more than Jews will leave over Israel maltreatment
Why leave the gay chuch? They vote the gay party 98%.
Still trying to figure that one out.
bttt
” a faith-based coalition of 34,000 churches comprised of 15 denominations and 15.7 million African-Americans...”
Those numbers are beyond astounding. Something going in the right direction, for a change.
It’s a step in the right direction.
He told me about his church and I patted him on the back.
I said "I sure would like to attend your church some Sunday"...
And he shuttered...and a while later said..."OK".
It was apparent that Whitey wasn't welcome in his church.
I guess the ‘PC’ in PCUSA stands for ‘politically correct’.
Ping to interesting news about many black churches.
Yeah. Like the states and governors who, after complying with Roe v. Wade for 42 years, suddenly start talking about nullification when it comes to federal gun control.
I’m told the national Episcopal Church meets this summer and that on the agenda is approval of trial liturgy for same sex marriages. How sad for that grand old church which most of our founding father belonged and were active.
If you wanted to have a gathering of all of the conservative black Presbyterians, you wouldn't need to rent a football stadium.
The Congregationalists, which most of the northern founding fathers belonged to, went that way many years ago.
Unfortunately it doesn’t appear that it will cause them to cease voting for Dem politicians who are backing what they reject on religious grounds.
So are these the “regular” Black chrstians who endorse and vote for Democrats election after election after election, or are these the so-called “uncle toms?”
[The Congregationalists, which most of the northern founding fathers belonged to, went that way many years ago.]
The Conservative Congregational Church believes the Scriptures.
When more and more of the protestant denominations, Church of England, Presbeterian, some Lutheran group, wake up and recognize their true roots, they will rejoin, happily, the Catholic church from which they split. The truth never changes and people are beginning to see that the revolution was a mistake of enormous proportions...and consequences...
