Lawmakers gasp when black Dem Rep accuses colleagues 18-month-old of being racist
Proving that the race card has no bounds a Democrat Indiana lawmaker has accused an 18-month-old of being a racist. While debating the controversial Religious Freedom Bill recently signed into law by Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, Rep. Vanessa Summers said the toddler, who is the son of her colleague Republican Judson McMillin was afraid of her because shes black. He looked at me like I was a monster and turned around and cried, she said. And I told him you need to introduce your child to some people that are dark-skinned so he will not be scared. Now anyone whos ever met a baby knows they sometimes cry when they meet strangers, or Santa Claus, or the Easter Bunny or because, you know, theyre babies and they just cry sometimes.
But not in the mind of Summers. In her mind this baby was a racist who could only have cried in response to her black skin. I told Jud McMillin I love his son, but hes scared of me because of my color. Its hard, she said to the sound of gasps from her colleagues who likely couldnt fathom a dumber statement being made by an elected official. Her colleagues seemed to groan at the insanity of her claim, according to the Indianapolis Star. Its true, Summers insisted. McMillin took the high road in response to the claims. Its just incredibly unfortunate. Youd like to think that we would have professional discussion on the House floor and certainly be able to avoid having 18-month-olds in the discussion, McMillin told the Star.

Yeah ... keep those discerning kids away from her and everything will be alright.
Hey, lady. Kids are always afraid of people who don't look friendly, no matter what color your skin is.
My wife, who has a very low melanin content, worked at MLK Hospital in LA, same thing happened to her on one occasion with a black baby.
She thought it was funny.
One of my daughters went through a period where she wouldn’t even look at her 2 grandmothers——the grandfather was fine.
We all thought it was quite humorous.
.
Hey Lady... he didn’t cry because you’re black... He cried because you’re ugly.....
I’ve had dogs that bark at black people.
Maybe it’s because you’re Ugly.
Thats funny because my dog has been racist since we got him as a rescue.
Goes nuts around blacks....
I was terrified of Bald people when I was very small.
She’s easily a 4 bagger...
Yep, babies like dogs have a sixth sense for detecting jerks. And they are all different. It took our first grandson just two or three visits to warm up to us. He's an outgoing little chap who loves everybody.
His little brother is only beginning to warm up to grandpa and grandma at 15 months.
The granddaughters are both Mummy and Daddy's girls but are making slow progress. It has been my experience that young children are totally color blind to skin color but quickly repulsed by jerks.
That would scare me if I were looking at it in the reflection of my polished shield.
Same here. Don’t think it was because of their skin color per se, it was that the skin color was not the same as ours—the owners.
“I told Jud McMillin I love his son, but hes scared of me because of my color.’”
You can’t prove that, moron.
There ain't enough burlap in the world...
