Adam Smith, the former medical-device executive whose career was ruined when a video of him berating a Chick-Fil-A employee for the companys anti-gay stance went viral, said his family is now homeless and living on food stamps.
Mr. Smith, 37, who was the CFO of an Arizona-based catheter manufacturer, toldABCs 20/20 he was fired after recording an exchange between himself and a drive-thru cashier in June 2012, as the fast-food chain was embroiled in a national controversy over company President Dan Cathys public opposition to gay marriage.

I don't know about it not being Christ-like, but certainly human. When you make such a public spectacle of yourself and turn your career radioactive, there is a certain comeuppance that he rightly deserves. I think the issue is, that to some degree he remains unrepentant. Whatever platitudinous apologies he has mouthed, are perceived as insincere. And like anyone with a problem they have to hit "rock bottom" before they admit they have a problem.
a CFO making 200 grand a year is now broke and homeless?
sure must have been a great money manager

Yep, those financial management “skills” and his pleasant personality likely go a long way to explain his current situation. The likelihood is that he has been refusing to accept a job that paid substantially less than his former undeserved salary.
Unlike liberals, I don’t think somebody should be destroyed for doing something like he did, no matter how much I may not like it. Although, the punishment fit the crime and give him a chance to repent.
I noted in his interview he stated he “didn’t regret his stand, but regretted the way he talked to the employee”
Doesn’t sound like he has learned his lesson...
Have you SEEN the video?
By berating a perfectly innocent girl with the most arrogant and condescending attitude possible, and then having the monstrous ego to post it online, this guy made his own future.
This was NOT “misfortune.”
Hey, now! Don’t you go dissin’ Bob and his “happy little trees”.
Actually, I think this guy is “closeted.”
His speech pattern and inflections gave him away. He just “thsounded thso thsilly.” ...”Oh, and I’m not gay.” Right.
My opinion.
I was super suprised that he was married with kids. My gaydar was beeping when the vid came out.
What? They are not, and I never said otherwise. I think the guy's an asshole. But, I also think it's a bit unseemly to be responding to his misfortune (yes, even an asshole's misfortune) with things like "GOOD!"
Nobody stopped him from getting another job, he is his own punishment. He will never repent.
Rush - Read my post just before yours.
As soon as this guy opened his mouth I thought exactly the same!
Great minds....... ;)
Mr. Smith doesn't seem to understand that actions have consequences. His opinions were wrong on every level and his actions were both personally and professionally unacceptable.
His employment termination was a logical and legitimate result of his unacceptable actions. So is his continued unemployment.
Now no one owes Mr. Smith a job. No one owes him a living. Yet somehow he is living without employment. So I suspect he is living off of others. And I have no sympathy for him.
"That picture looks like its out of a 80s adult movie."
I was thinking maybe the CFO of an outlaw motorcycle gang.
If he shows up for job interviews like that, there are probably more reasons that he's unemployed than abusing some poor fast food employee. The same reasons be responsible for both end results. I wish him luck in identifying those reasons and changing them. (Although I am skeptical that he will.)
Great “Gaydar!” : )
$200,000 a year jobs are hard to come by these days. You don't expect him to take a pay cut, do you.
“A lot of people here are cheering this guys misfortune. How very....Christian....of you.
Sickening, really.

‘Well, this cruel creature provides a biblical cautionary tale...deal with it.
Proverbs 16:18: “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”
That's cruel, mean and totally insensitive.
But, nevertheless, funny as hell!
As much as I hate to admit it to myself, you are right.
