Former Massachusetts Gov. and 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney says he wasnt leaving out former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush when he said in late January that one of the next generation of Republican leaders may well emerge as being better able to beat the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee.
No, no Im talking about the next political generation, Mr. Romney said on NBCs Today program. I, along with a few other people, ran in the last contest and I was not successful, and my thought was we need a new face, someone not yet defined in the publics mind. Jeb Bush is one of those new faces.
After flirting with a third run at the White House, Mr. Romney announced in late January that he would not be running in 2016.
I want to hear what he has to say, and what Marco [Rubio] has to say, and Chris Christie and others, and as we do I think were gonna decide, whos the person whos best able to communicate why it is that Republican principles, conservative principles are the best in helping middle class and poor people do better in this country, Mr. Romney said.
Mr. Romney also called Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, who became the first major Republican candidate to actually enter the race earlier this week, a legitimate contender.

Jeb’s chances came and went a decade ago. At best in Iowa....he finishes third. In South Carolina, he might finish second. He’s finished in the primary by the end of January...other than Florida, I don’t see him any more shots.
And Jeb’s team will be a bunch of fresh faces too.....Karl Rove, Nicole Wallace, etc etc.
New slogan: JEB 2016: SLIGHTLY FRESHER THAN HILLARY
Jeb Bush is a rerun of Romney. Just go away, Mitt
A rerun of Romney. A rerun of W. A rerun of H.W. A rerun of three men who absolutely gave us Clinton and Obama. No thanks....
Politicians engage in political talk, normally called palaver, in order to evade serious discussion. When you go to a state fair, you can buy it; it is called cotton candy and it will disappear once you try to bite it.
Now we know what Jeb and Mitt were doing in Jackson, WY last summer.
A Mitt endorsement won’t fix a broken agenda.
That worries me, assuming you're correct. Romney had all the dough, and even though it seemed nobody wanted him, he got 10m of the 19m votes cast in primaries and won the nomination.
New face of what? Failure?
Mitt ought to know. He was his placeholder.
In defense of Romney, Jeb has not run for president before, so in that sense he’s a “new face.”
Good Lord!!
A Bush is a Bush is a Bush... new face my arss.
At this point I would not even bet Jebbie could take Fla..
“...as we do I think were gonna decide, whos the person whos best able to communicate why it is that Republican principles, conservative principles are the best in helping middle class and poor people do better in this country, Mr. Romney said. “
Says the asshat who several times declared he was not conservative and never once displayed an aptitude for connecting with the Republican base.
the republican party can try to shove another horse shit candidate up my wazoo like McLame, Mitt, Dole or another damned Bush. I will NOT vote for another non conservative for any reason again.
Jeb is NO conservative, to hell with him.
There ain’t a damn thing fresh about Jeb’s face or his ideas. Especially his ideas, which are as old as the democrats. He seems to have misunderstood that classic slogan to be “America, Love It or Give It To Our Invaders”
Jebster is the designated loser this time around, just like Mitt and McCain before him. The RNC must deliver the amnesty candidate they have been paid to deliver by The Cheap Labor Express. The RNC will do whatever it takes to make sure we cannot elect anyone who will stop the cheap labor importation that they call immigration.
WTF!?! The establishment is starting to feel some fear if they start slinging this type of garbage about Jeb this early.
