Police said Wednesday that 29-year-old Denise Huskins, who was kidnapped from a Vallejo home Monday morning, was found safe.
Lt. Kenny Park of the Vallejo Police Department told reporters at a press conference Wednesday morning that they are still treating the case as a kidnap and ransom situation."There's nothing to indicate otherwise," he said.
Park said that Vallejo police had received a phone call from Huntington Beach police at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday reporting Huskins had been found safe at an undisclosed location. Vallejo police will be questioning Huskins soon, Park said.
Huskins' boyfriend claims an intruder broke into his Mare Island home early Monday morning and took her by force while demanding a ransom. But for some reason, her boyfriend waited 11 hours to report it to police.

is being held for ransom. Bob Redell reports. (Published Tuesday, Mar 24, 2015) Prior to the news conference, Mike Huskins said his daughter, Denise Huskins is safe in Huntington Beach. He provided no other details. Her aunt, Karen Huskins, said that Huskins appeared at her mother's home in Huntington Beach, Huskins' mother is curently in Vallejo. Huskins then walked to her father's house. Her father is also in Vallejo, staying close by to police, her aunt said, so Huskins was staying at a neighbor's house.
How Huskins got to Huntington Beach was not made clear in Wednesday's press conference. Huntington Beach police also confirmed Huskins was safe in Huntington Beach, but said the investigation is still "active."
Huskins is from Huntington Beach, and according to her Facebook page moved to Vallejo in June 2014. She is a physical therapist at Kaiser Permanente.
There is something rather fishy about this. Going to be interesting once the whole story comes out.
And where, pray tell, did this 29 year old woman find said safe?
It was a wall safe.
An earlier thread about this had a number of FReepers speculating that she was dead at the boyfriend’s hands. Glad to hear that she is still among the living.
I wonder if she was involved.
There’s a lot more to come out in this story
Hey. Blame the dogs that hit on the water near Made Island!
They wasted no time in sonoring the area.
I spent a year there and stayed at the lovely old Marine barracks in ‘73.
Them waters is murky.
Glad she turned up.. Probably had a blowout with her BF.
Mare Island. (Dam spillchucker)
Anybody ever see the movie Gone Girl?
I agree.
I am sure that is true.
I never posted, but count me as one who thought the boyfriend sounded like prime suspect, based on actions and peculiar details/timeline. It’s nice to be wrong :)
very very peculiar...
It sucked. No redeeming value.
KTVU reporting that police now call this an “orchestrated event”, orchestrated by the so-called kidnapped female. Ransom was $8,500! Maybe a shakedown of her parents?
That’s what I was thinking.
