There is a substation not far from me and the chain link fence around it looks to be no more than four feet tall. Even if it is six feet, it would be simple to get over it. Every time we drive past that place, I am reminded how vulnerable it is. Due to my preps, I would be fine if power went out for a long time, but I wish that substation had more security than it does, which is none except for that measly fence.

You don't even have to get over the fence if the transformers are exposed. Any high powered rifle can punch a hole in those transformers. When the coolant (oil) leaks out, they're fried.
