NEW evidence has emerged that the Germanwings Airbus A320 that crashed in southern France yesterday dived for 18 minutes, and not eight as previously thought.
Frances Transport Minister Segolene Royal said this morning that the crew had stopped responding to radio messages at 10.30am, with the plane flying over the Mediterranean sea.
The aircraft crashed into the side of a mountain in the French Alps at 10.48am, suggesting that the plane had descended from 28,000ft to 2,000ft without signalling an emergency.
Ms Royal added that events in the cockpit in the 60 seconds between 10.30am and 10.31am were crucial and could shed light on what caused the disaster.

Either sudden loss of pressurization, causing crew blackout, or autopilot failure causing slow descent that was unnoticed by crew during cruise phase of flight.

Ping.
Now this does sound like a terror attack.
Crew somehow INCAPACITATED.
Oh crap, you mean the media screwed up again? That almost never happens!

—— dived——
or glided
They were either passed out
OR *FIGHTING*.
If it’s the latter, would they ever TELL US???
NO WAY.
2 Iranians. Hmmmmm.
I think it’s the latter. Eighteen minutes seems more like the autopilot slow diving and going unnoticed.
So there was communications with the pilots. Next question, what were the last communications?
Perhaps by not having enough oxygen? It sounds more to me like catastophic de-pressurisation that terrorism. Occams razor and all that.

How come the media & governments are not telling us that there were THIRTY-NINE (39) Turkish citizens on board the ill-fated German Wings aircraft? Very strange & silent!!!
Gee... you like to think that pilots would notice if the auto pilot flew the stupid thing into the ground?
Depressurization is unlikely to cause this. There is no subtle way it happens. The first steps are for the pilots to don oxygen masks at forced 100% flow, then use the autopilot to descend to an altitude no lower than 10,000 feet.
This event had a trigger event at 38,000. A controlled descent means that the pilots were conscious. An Airbus is one of the few modern aircraft that will NOT begin a descent without direct crew initiation. A little known fact for all the Airbus-bashes out there. You cannot program an Airbus to fly a descent profile and have the aircraft automatically initiate it. It always takes a pilot to execute a descent. Period.
The possible trigger events point to either an airframe structural failure at altitude or fire/smoke. It had to be something to disable BOTH the crew and the automation.
EXCELLENT POINT!
Your post is.the first I heard this.
I can’t imagine the horror and sheer terror the passengers must have been feeling.
What are the NAMES of the cockpit crew? I’m suspicious of foul play. Once the crew is cleared we can take a closer look at the two Middle Eastern passengers, or whatever they were, originally reported as Turks.
