Cruz and his family no longer qualify for the private health insurance they held through Goldman Sachs. He does NOT qualify for a subsidy. Why does everyone think that all Obamacare is is extended Medicaid or a subsidy? It is available to those who CANNOT be covered through private employment, and it applies to members of Congress who don’t otherwise have it through their spouses.

Technically, his wife is eligible for COBRA; but I think Cruz has something up his sleeve. Plus, you are correct, many people have no other choice but to sign up for Obamacare. Liberals want you to think all of these people on Obamacare are people who previously did not have insurance, but reality, most people had it and obamacare was the only insurance available to them.

Thanks to Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, who managed to cram that provision into the law in 2009. Zero and the rest of the executive branch remain on the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program.

It is mostly welfare insurance for free, then bad very costly insurance for anyone with a mediocre job or better.

My bad insurance is almost $5000 a year personally. My wife had hers triple under Obamacare and we have been able to keep my 6 year olds old insurance with a 20% spike in cost.

We are not very well off, and our cost is close to 9k a year. Certainly not a savings of 2k to my family in any world we live in.
