Rand Paul stopped by the SXSW Festival last weekend to show the tech savvy youth of today that he is a pretty cool dude who gets it when it comes to the issues they care about like privacy and cool apps.
I do Snapchat, the Republican and probable candidate for president at one point said.
During an interview with Texas Tribune CEO Evan Smith, the Senator from Kentucky did his best to woo the young tech crowd by linking concern over NSA spying programs with the libertarian narrative of an intrusive and abusive government. He referred to those in the latest generations of voters who are receptive to his message as the leave me alone coalition.
Tech is important, but so is substance, the Senator said, a point that was substantiated to the crowd by his brown cowboy boots and jeans. Im the only candidate who thinks that the NSA program on bulk collection of your phone records should be shut down.
And to demonstrate that he also knows how the Internet works, he added: So, for example, if any of the people who like that look online for an article that says the NSA shouldnt be doing that, it may well be that they see an ad from us, and thats the way the Internet works, is liking and tagging your ideas to other ideas out there that people are interested in....

Er, is there some kind of point you’re trying to make? Unless this other guy is the head of the NSA, it doesn’t seem to suggest any contradiction to the original article.
Does that about cover it?
There are three legs to the conservative stool. While I like the libertarian position on the fiscal leg, you fail miserably on both the social and national defense legs.
Americans to Rand: “ Resist YOU MUCH !! “
And the libertarians fail to realize that they have a lot more in common with the far left on social issues and defense.
So, you support Big Brother. Does that about cover it?
I saw it as a good thing! Rand is a hip guy who is inclusive!
Rand Paul actually isn’t a very good libertarian. I’m surprised that kaled likes him.
For a conservative, Paul is wrong on amnesty because he supports it just like libertarians do, who apparently don’t believe in national sovereignty. He’s also wrong on drugs, because he wants them sold openly on the street.
At this point in time, he’s right on abortion, which he opposes. Also, he’s right on homosexual marriage which he opposes.
Those two should cause libertarians to cringe, but they believe he’ll flipflop if he were to get the nomination.
So you support Rand’s cowardly liberal positions on National Defense and Social Conservatism? Does that about cover it?
Let's see if we can simplify things:
1. Do YOU believe that 9/11 was an "inside job"? YES or NO
2. Do YOU believe that the United States has reason to be concerned about the threat of terrorism? YES or NO
3. Do YOU support the war on terror? YES or NO
Answer those questions and we'll talk.
He’s a Liberaltarian. I won’t vote for him. Our country is in such a mess that nothing short of a Christian Conservative will have any chance of saving us.
Maybe President Hillary will send you a thank-you card.
“So, you support Big Brother. Does that about cover it?”
I’m sure that wags supports the social and military policies that guided Ronald Reagan, whose name you use for no discernible reason seeing as Reagan believed in a strong military and whose social mores were formed before the 1960s.
Nope, a couple years back he said that there should be "thousands of exceptions" that allow abortion.
In the end, he's just like his father, he claims to be pro-life but he is actually just in favor of more "and then you can kill the baby laws."
“Those two should cause libertarians to cringe, but they believe hell flipflop if he were to get the nomination.”
Libertarians see RandPaul as one of their own no matter what he says while running, the same way that the authoritarian Left recognized Obama as one of their own no matter what he said while running for President.
Kaled uses PART of a quote to justify all of his libertarian garbage.
Libtards always shy away from using the rest of the quote:
Now, I cant say that I will agree with all the things that the present group who call themselves Libertarians in the sense of a party say, because I think that like in any political movement there are shades, and there are libertarians who are almost over at the point of wanting no government at all or anarchy. I believe there are legitimate government functions. There is a legitimate need in an orderly society for some government to maintain freedom or we will have tyranny by individuals. The strongest man on the block will run the neighborhood. We have government to insure that we dont each one of us have to carry a club to defend ourselves. But again, I stand on my statement that I think that libertarianism and conservatism are travelling the same path.
ALL of the libertarians I see to day are essentially anarchists.
