"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

The fact that no other candidate will vocalize support for this is simply stunning.

Cruz refused to attack his rival.

I guess Ted Cruz recognizes who is on the right side of most issues and that it will be impossible to be a party of one.

The man is better than Reagan.

Cruz is the only candidate with the courage to eliminate the IRS he says he will do it every time he speaks, if other candidates begin to say the same, they only do so for political expediency, they don’t mean it.

Cruz says what he means and will do what he says...CRUZ 2016!

AMEN!! (big thumbs up)

The income tax and the Internal Revenue has resulted in a frightening US$1 TRILLION per year in compliance and economic opportunity costs in 2014 according to the Tax Foundation.

Now you know my tagline. Once we complete the full transition to FairTax to replace the income tax, American residents and businesses will enjoy over US$900 BILLION per year freed up for more productive purposes. That type of economic stimulus would send our economy through the roof in no time flat and would even substantially cut the unemployment rate, too.

IRS has become so corrupted that calls for eliminating it are growing. And Eric Holder is doing nothing, NOTHING about it.

He won applause when he called for a flat tax and abolishing the Internal Revenue Service, and he said the Affordable Care Act and Common Core curriculum standards should be repealed.

No weasel words in any of that.

GO CRUZ!

Ted Cruz gets it.

Abolishing the IRS would be one of the most significant and positive government reforms in the last century.

The Liberty-crushing "progressive income tax" is a Marxist abomination, a central plank of the Communist Manifesto.

We need bold leadership, not the status quo.

I like a lot of what Cruz has to say.

Can you imagine someone like Jeb Bush advocating abolishing the IRS? Maybe I'm wrong, but somehow I think Jeb's reforms would invariably be more "moderate".

I like Cruz’s approach on the IRS but I think going after the Dept of Education would be a bridge too far. I think it would frighten women voters
And feed into stereotypes. Better to leave that task for the second term. :)

Go for it, Ted, you've got my vote.

Tell them all to go get real jobs.
