As much as I hate inner city violence, those folks aren’t going into churches and killing 130 and wounding another couple of hundred.
They haven’t taken out targets like the WTC either.
In some ways I do think there is a parallel, but I’d be more specific. Societies in both countries have signed off on these things to a certain extent. I agree with you there.
Here it’s cool to be a gangsta. That S needs to stop here and now. The entertainment industry should do more to police it’s own creations.
The Rap degradation of women would be an excellent place to start.
Black women, women in general, should not be denigrated in the manner many of these songs do it.
Other shady practices that are anti-society should also be looked at.

That was really my main point: the law-abiding who are closest to it accept it as a part of life. Until that changes, nothing else will. The only alternative solution I see is a level of authority that we no longer have the stomach for. Containing it is the best we can really hope for.
