I’ve seen some snarky remarks on other threads, to the effect that Starbucks seems to have very few black employees and few black customers. Yet this company is going to lecture us about race.

Also, some other threads discussed how there are no Starbucks in majority black towns across the country.

Coincidentally, they have some of the lowest robbery rates in the country

I really don’t know.. I can’t really say. All I know is that I’ve had their raw, basic ingredient - coffee, and it is bitter and doesn’t taste good to me.

My impression is that they’ve sold a style and a mystique that actually has nothing to do with the product, but rather the process of acquiring it in their routine. I’ve seen these asshats carry that crap around like it is liquid gold or something similar.

I really don’t understand it other than to think the management is confident enough in their training of the airheads to be reasonably comfortable in their position to now start lecturing based on some political bent.

Next time you go to the airport and get your ticket from the airline, do you want to be mused on the subtleties of race before you get your ticket? Maybe while some third world TSA goon is eying you like Osama Bin Laden? Why then at Starbucks?

I’ve been to the Memphis Airport and the staff was all Black when I was there and they were busy, good and efficient. .......... doubt they or their customers have the time to talk about race relations.
Now if you want to talk about race matters Mr. Starbucks, you could pick up the tab and we could go to the, Interstate Bar-B-Que in Memphis and get some Beef Ribs. Park the car close to the restaurant for safety.

Business opportunity! You know how some supermarkets have a Starbucks counter inside? They could open coffee counters in abortion facilities! /major sarcasm off
