After Elections, Netanyahu Loyalist Says Israel ‘Delighted’ to Renew Palestinian Talks [Israel]
The Algemeiner ^ | Wednesday, March 18, 2016 | Chris Coffey

Israel’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzachi Hanegbi (Likud) said yesterday in an interview that the new government is willing to return to the negotiation table with the Palestinians.

“We would be delighted to renew the negotiations,” Hanegbi said in an interview with the Israel Project. “We believe it is in the interest of both people– the Israeli and the Palestinian– to have a dialogue; to discuss our disputes; to try and find [a] common denominator in the issues that are so crucial to both people.”

Hanegbi, a Netanyahu loyalist, also said that the new government will begin an intense effort to renew the trust between the United States and Israel.

“We will make an effort, a very, very intimate and intense effort to renew the trust between the governments,” said the deputy foreign minister. “It is essential for the security of Israel. It is essential for the survival of the state of Israel.”

Hanegbi’s words are significant in light of Netanyahu’s vocal opposition this week to the establishment of a Palestinian state. The hostility of the Obama Administration towards Netanyahu was also widely reported in the weeks leading up the Israeli election.

WELL ... I do know that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that there would NEVER be Palestinian State on his watch, if he was re-elected as Prime Minister. And that was a DRAMATIC change of policy by Netanyahu, given just hours before the election started!

Perhaps what Netanyahu intends to do now is simply TALK ... and never agree to a state ... LOL ...

Israel’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzachi Hanegbi (Likud) said yesterday in an interview that the new government is willing to return to the negotiation table with the Palestinians.

Why would the Palestinians trust them after yesterday? And why should they trust the Palestinians after, well, after the last 20 years?

Tzachi Hanegbi is sending out a trial balloon.

But I think that he and his boss knows that unless Israel makes the concessions upfront, there is no reason for the Arabs to go along with the charade.

And we have been down that road before.

WELL ... Netanyahu has always said before, that he would go anywhere, at anytime and enter into final status negotiations in order to form a Palestinian State. That has been a very long standing policy.

But it appears that Netanyahu had REVERSED that position for about 48 hours.

Perhaps they will believe that Israel will enter into negotiations with them ... because it’s only a policy of “48 Hours” -versus- the actions of Israel and Netanyahu for years on end ... :-) ...

The Arabs will never make peace with Israel.

But just keeping talks about talks going on lessens the pressure on Israel.

The process is far more important than the substance.

Actually, your last thought there is probably the best that can be expected.

Alleviating as many Arab concerns as they can without granting statehood is the only way to go IMO.

If he deals with the Arabs in good faith, no-trust and verify, that’s a wise route to take.

I agree with your interpretation of it. Bibi did not say “I’m starting a new Palestinian State on this particular date!”. He only said, he was willing to renew the gestures of diplomacy, which he understands are sometimes inevitable.
He was the victor yesterday, so he can afford to be gracious ans loses nothing. The Pals would have had a solid rallying point had he said, no more talks.

Netanyahu knows that a Paly state is not possible, or acceptable to Israel. Talking to them about common concerns is one thing, agreeing to cutting your own throat is quite another. That is what happens when one side’s preconditions to negotiating are that the other give up everything that it owns and agrees to be slaves or killed. That can never work, which is why there is no peace between Israel and these maniacs.

Maybe it's a political ploy to stick Obama and his media fluffers in the eye for
saying the sky is falling because he won and there would be no peace.

This is a slap in Obama's face, and I doubt anything will come of it but
to prove a point about Islam once again.

It sort of looks like Netanyahu is getting ready to RESTART NEGOTIATIONS with the Palestinian Authority opinion regards to a Two-State Solution (namely the Oslo Accords and subsequent agreements from 20 years ago).

It looks like that is going to start up again, in spite of the announcement that Netanyahu made just prior to the election, saying that if he was re-elected as Prime Minister, he would never allow a Palestinian State.

I think that campaign promise is history ... :-) ... but it did get him re-elected!

PA: Negotiations ‘Only on Two-State Solution’ Basis [Netanyahu & Israel]
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3269435/posts

The PA officially announced Wednesday night that it was hoping to renew talks with Israel, regardless of who was Prime Minister.

After earlier reports said that the Palestinian Authority was considering suspending all security cooperation with Israel in the wake of Binyamin Netanyahu’s reelection, the PA officially announced Wednesday night that it was hoping to renew talks with Israel, regardless of who was Prime Minister.

Nabil Abu-Rudeineh, the PA’s official spokesperson, said that the PA has “no interest in the disposition of Israel’s Prime Minister. The only thing we are interested in from any Israeli government is the recognition and acceptance of the two-state solution, with Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian state.”

At a press conference in Ramallah, Abu-Rudeineh said that acceptance of the two state solution was the only basis of negotiation with Israel.

1. There are 400,000,000 million Moslems living in 15 Moslem countries in the Middle East. None of them enjoy the benefits of democracy. Tens of millions of them suffer from the barbaric cruelty of brutal and repressive Islamic regimes. 200,000,000 of these people are women who suffer from the fundamental limitations and restrictions that their religion imposes on them together with endemic abuse and systematic discrimination. Millions of Christians who live in these countries are living with terrible oppression and danger.

2. Less than 2 million Moslems live in Yehuda and Shomron. 97% of them already live under the PA regime. Only 3% live under Israeli control.

3. On every occasion in which a Middle East / Moslem territory has been vacated in the last few decades, the vacated area has fallen under the control of terrorists. It happened in Sinai, Lebanon, Gaza, Libya, Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq. Two of these areas - South Lebanon and Gaza are already controlled by Hizbolla and Hamas - both terrorist organizations whose objective is aimed that the destruction of Israel. Together with this Hamas already make up the majority of the Moslem population in the area that “they” want Israel to vacate.

Against this background there is something madly misguided and wildly irresponsible in the obsessive demand that Israel should withdraw from territories that are strategically crucial to Israel’s security when everyone knows that any vacated areas would fall under the control of terrorists. There is no possibility that such a withdrawal could result in “peace”. It can only result in more hostility and war. Any yet the demands continue under the heading of a “peace” process.

Apparently the Arabs don’t believe Netanyahu’s campaign promise ...

Netanyahu remarks on Palestinian state ‘electioneering’: Arabi
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/afp/article-3000833/Netanyahu-remarks-Palestinian-state-electioneering-Arab-League.html

The Arab League chief dismissed Wednesday as electioneering Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s vow to rule out a Palestinian state if reelected, saying there would be global pressure for a peace deal.

Netanyahu, whose Likud party won 30 seats in the 120-member parliament in Tuesday’s vote, had pledged to expand settlements in the occupied West Bank and block creation of a Palestinian state if reelected.

Arab League chief Nabil al-Arabi put the premier’s statements down to “electioneering”.

“I believe personally that he made that statement about... no two states to gain the votes of the extremists, particularly those Russian immigrants who went to Israel in the last 10, 15 years,” Arabi said.

Netanyahu, when asked by an Israeli interviewer if he would not allow the creation of a Palestinian state, had responded: “Indeed.”

But Arabi said he expected stalled peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, which broke down last year amid mutual recriminations, to resume after the next Israeli government is formed.

I support Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu whatever he decides to do, because I know he has the best interests of Israel at heart and he will do the right thing. I don’t have a problem with him taking care of Israel in his own judgement. It has been good this far. I’ll go along with him in the future.

What I see here is that he’s going to start up negotiations again and that’s fine with me if he decides that’s the best thing for Israel.

Are you going to accept Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s judgement ... or ... are you going to gripe about it?! ... LOL ...

Do you support Netanyahu now? I do ... as I have always said, I support Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu 100% in his policies and actions!

This explains Netanyahu’s position much better and also explains he has not backed away from his Bar-Ilan speech.

PM still wants ‘a peaceful two-state solution’

“I don’t want a one-state solution. I want a sustainable, peaceful two-state solution,” Prime Minister Netanyahu tells MSNBC in an interview after the elections.

Trying to clarify his position after the White House said it would draw its own conclusions from his comments on Election Day, in which he ruled out the establishment of a Palestinian state if re-elected, Netanyahu says, “I haven’t changed my policy. I never retracted my speech in Bar-Ilan University calling for a demilitarized Palestinian state that recognizes a Jewish state.”

Netanyahu explains that circumstances have changed since the Bar-Ilan speech was made in 2009.

Walking back pre-vote pitch, PM says he is not a one-stater

I always knew Netanyahu would stick to his long-standing policy, going back years and years. And it didn’t take him long to do that.

You are still wrong. That is because either you are ideologically unable to, or you don’t know what it is like to live in a country surrounded by hostile savages.

Netanyahu is for a “state” that will never exist, because he knows Muslims will never rest while Jews live in Jerusalem. For 48 years, the requirements are:

- Recognize Israel as a Jewish state (something Islam cannot do)
- Relinquish all claims to Jerusalem (something Islam cannot do)
- Relinquish all right of return
- Commitment to live in peace (impossible for Islam)

Judging on the past 48 years, since the reunification of Jerusalem in 1967, there has not been one single move on the part of the Philistinis to adjust to those requirements. Ain’t going to happen.

Sorry to disappoint you, bub. Netanyahu is playing the leftists in the US, to avoid a UN vote. So, I guess he is playing you to. Laugh out loud at Traveler.
