Ive paid my taxes, obeyed the laws and have been a good citizen supporting the community with donations, the former SCE worker wrote. I voted for President Obama and was appalled that he implemented a rule change, which allows work permits to H-1B spouses. My future votes will only go to candidates that support reforms to the H-1B visa program that preserve the American worker.

What was that Cartman said about tears tasting delicious?
He lists all the wonderful things he did—going to work, paying taxes, etc. He doesn’t mention: “I ignored the killing of 57 million babies, and I voted for Obama.”
Hey mister IT worker: It SUX2BU!
I would quote this to the guy: “But you knew I was a snake before you took me in.”
That is, if you can find a co-worker to cover you shift at the Quicki-Mart ;)
How was I supposed to know?
I'm smarter than all the people that told me!
Is there any proof McCain or Romney would have done better by this guy?
It appears that he still doesn’t understand the larger problem of illegal immigration, otherwise he would have also said he would not vote for politicians who support amnesty. While a lot of illegals might not be tech capable, they will still drive down wages and replace other American workers.
That’s an excellent question. I can’t guarantee that either of them would have done better regarding the H1B issue. Suffice for now that the worker blames the one who holds the office.
This business of importing cheap labor and exporting customer service jobs overseas could be stopped by Congress, and SHOULD be stopped by Congress.
Penalize corporations via the tax code to the point where it costs more to engage in this practice than it does to employ an American.
Customer service jobs in particular could be great way to increase employment as stay at home moms, the elderly, and welfare cases could perform this work from their houses with todays technology.
Instead hundreds of thousands of people in India and the Philippines are doing customer service for corporations like ATT and American Express.
There is no IT job that cannot be learned through on the job training.
NOT A SINGLE FOREIGNER SHOULD TAKE AN AMERICAN JOB.
Oh, I see, it's only bad when republicans do it...
Sucker!
Where the hell do you expect to find that many American folks with an unintelligable accent?!?!
Wait a minute. That gives me an idea!
“Broken English” as a second language courses!
“There is no IT job that cannot be learned through on the job training.”
We have Americans already trained to do these jobs; companies don’t want to pay them. A programmer friend was out of work for years before getting a job as an airport screener...
They caused the damage being done to this country for the last 6 years, period!
That is an amount of blind stupidity I can't conceive of or have any sympathy for.
Exactly. Jobs are a national resource not global. The workers understand this but politicians don’t.
The voter will get gibs from Santa ‘bama and forget all about it. Unemployment payments are never ending now.
Note that he does not say in the interview that, in addition to paying his taxes, obeying the laws, and donating to the community he worked his arse off.
My daughter, not a US national, took two degrees, in engineering and mathematics, in four years at the University of Washington. After graduation, she was able to secure employment at a laser engineering company in a small town 30 miles east of Seattle, where she lives. She never misses work, happily takes all the extra work she is asked to do, and has advanced up the ladder since she started. She has discussed with her bosses the situation re: hiring foreigners.
The company has a hard time getting qualified US citizens to work there because they do not want to drive that far to work, and they make too many demands. They have a hard time getting even the few US nationals that they need to work on their USDoD contracts.
I paid a lot for her education, and I am happy that she has this opportunity to legally pursue a career and US citizenship.
