The returns on voting from ballot boxes indicate that the Likud has significantly extended its lead over Zionist Union.
According to Israel Radio, officials have counted the votes of 25 percent of booths across the country. The results indicate that the Likud wins 32 Knesset seats while Zionist Union garners 25 seats.
Yesh Atid is the third-largest party with 11 seats, Moshe Kahlon's Kulanu faction wins 10 seats, the Arab List nosedives to nine seats, the Sephardi ultra-Orthodox Shas movement wins eight seats, Naftali Bennett's Bayit Yehudi dips further to seven seats, while Yisrael Beytenu, which has only mustered five seats, climbs to seven.
United Torah Judaism wins six seats while Meretz rounds out the list with five seats.
All that money flushed down the drain.
Obama tried to buy Israel. Israeli voters were having none of it.
Wow... almost 100% and a six seat lead!
This is a victory people thought wouldn’t happen tonight.
Time to do bench gomel!
Yes, and a 16 seat lead for the right bloc overall. This despite Meretz barely making the threshold and getting their 4 seats while Yachad fell short and gets 0.
Furthermore, the right tends to gain ground when the final mailed in ballots come in.
The treacherous left wing media is probably wondering what happened to their propaganda program.
Reminds me of CNN not calling Texas for Republicans
Remember that ZU is actually a merger of 2 leftist parties.
Likud didn’t merge with anyone this cycle, yet they pulled in the most votes in the end with a 6 seat margin.
Actually the ARABS are the third largest party in Israel.

Big deal...Obama said all those who didn’t vote, they want a deal with Iran.
Nom Nom Nom goes the irony troll.
I think it happened! I think it actually happened! crying tears of joy, Now, Lord, bring about great Revival in Israel!
Latest official tally has Likud down three seats to 29 but the soldiers’ vote could yet make up one or two of the losses.
Not only is BiBi going to WIN but he is going to gain seats that NO ONE saw coming!!
Maybe Bibi can hold up a newspaper saying "Herzog defeats Netanyahu".
The Joint List picked up a seat from the Likud.
The soldiers’ vote may give it back - we’ll see.
Yeah not sure when they count soldiers votes but they do tend to go right
The forming of the government will be the next problem, and there is talk about a posdible UNITY GOVERNMENT with the Zionist Union. It depends on a couple of the smaller parties, though ... who have said they are waiting for a bit before saying which they will go with.
The party with the most seats usually gets the nod.
A grand coalition government is still a possible option.
Take THAT, Bammie!
> A grand coalition government is still a possible option.
No, a Unity government is a non-starter, despite Rivlin’s preferences, and what you’ve been hearing in the news.
The 3rd largest party in the incoming Knesset will be the Combined Arab list, with 14 seats. If Likud and “Zionist Camp” were to form a unity government, the head of the Arab list would become the opposition leader. The opposition leader is required to be given a weekly complete national classified security briefing.
This would never be acceptable to Bibi, and probably not to Herzog either.
