FOX is reporting that no Secretary of State signed off on exit forms when leaving their position, including Hillary Clinton. Case closed?
Maybe. I’m sure people in these positions consult lawyers upon resigning. Some or all may have opted not to sign it.
The form only acknowledges that they are complying with the law. Signing it, and not complying would add perjury. But, not complying with the law, even if you didn't know it existed, is still breaking the law.
Unlike Hillary Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice used .gov servers for their business so the State Dept. had their communications automatically. They may not have signed the form but they weren't withholding any docs.
I thought the state dept rep said it was “optional, depending on dept”.
