Simon—one of the so-called "Zebra Killers" convicted of multiple murders of white San Franciscans in the 1970s—has died...The random killings of whites [14 people were killed and at least seven wounded] occurred between 1973 and 1976. The suspects were named for the police channel used to try to identify and capture them.

These are the people who went on their version of a jihad and killed whites only, including salvation Army workers.
They hacked several to death with a machete, and shot some others.
One of those shot was the son of Nelson “Pete” Shields who then went on to for the anti-handgun group Handgun Control Inc, now known as They Brady Center.

You are correct sir. Two years at San Quentin, and 23 years at Solano, in Vacaville. I talked to Charlie Manson a few times there. (SQ) I saw the Night Stalker, but never spoke to him. I think Charlie went to Corcoran years ago. Charlie is weird. The crazy way he looks like on TV, is really the way he is. It is not an act he is putting on. We were serving breakfast once, and Charlie looked at me and said, soon you will be getting paid in Russian Rubles. We all got a good laugh out of that. We talked to Simon all the time, and he was always respectful, but we had to leave our personal feelings at home, and deal professionally with them. It wasn't always easy to do.

I thought it was confined only to the Bay Area.
And the only reason I knew that part of the story was because my neighbor gave me a paperback book on it.
This story would make a good TV series, and a well timed antidote to all the Ferguson, MO racial bull crap.
I even know the perfect broadcast time - opposite the new prime time Black soap opera “Empire” on Fox.
