Netanyahu Slips in Polls Days Before Israeli Elections Labor Party leader Herzog benefits from perception that Prime Minister is not focused on economy
TEL AVIVLess than a week before Israels general elections, the party of incumbent Benjamin Netanyahu has begun to fall behind an opponent who promises to restart talks with Palestinians and smooth the prime ministers notoriously rocky relations with the White House.
Two polls on Wednesday put Isaac Herzog, leader of the dovish Labor Party, slightly ahead and suggest that support for Mr. Netanyahu and his Likud party among working-class Jews has eroded because of their widespread perception that he has focused on nuclear threats from Iran and extremist Muslims at the expense of economic problems.
Hes talking about something that isnt relevantIran and ISIS, said Avi Biton, owner of a snack bar and a Likud voter in previous elections. Today my kids dont have the ability to settle down and buy a house. If they cant do that, this country has no reason to exist.
Polls by Israel Army Radio and the daily Haaretz released on Wednesday showed Mr. Herzogs Zionist Union, a new, center-left alliance of the Labor Party with another political faction, winning 24 of the 120 seats in the Knesset, or parliament, to 21 for Likud party. A survey on Tuesday by Channel 2 television showed Zionist Union picking up 25 seats to Likuds 21.
The polls show Mr. Netanyahu, who is seeking a fourth term as prime minister, lost support after his speech to Congress last week warning against the terms of a nuclear deal being negotiated between six world powers and Iran.[...] Some retired generals criticized Mr. Netanyahu for alienating Israels most important ally.

And they thought we were nuts not to elect Obama.
Polls can be manipulated.
Of course, I’m sure no one has an interest in doing that...(sarc/off)
It’s probably with my firearms.
Although the time is coming when Israel will suffer greatly, it will never be destroyed and right after it’s brief period of Great Tribulation, Israel and Jerusalem will be the center of world power for 1000 years.
Would he rather not exist at all?
Means he is getting back in.
I’m sure the economy will be the first things on the voters minds the day after provided they survive.
Thank you for posting the link explaining the Israeli election process...very interesting.
The last time he ran for re-election he was going to lose as well. It was supposed to be close and he won by a landslide.
Any thoughts or reports on how Rivlin will affect the next leader of the coalition government?
I don’t believe any of this crap anymore no matter Who puts it out. In the last couple days I’ve read at least three articles where he is slipping and worried and another three where his speech at congress helped him and he is 20 points ahead in the polls. can’t both be true at the same time.
0bama/Soros have lots of $$. So do oil countries. Who knows what that buys.
Netanyahu/Likud polled very well in the 2013 elections. They actually did a little bit worse than polls predicted.
It’s not “infecting” Israel ... leftists were KEY in the formation of Israel!
It’s possible that Netanyahu may win anyway ... even if he loses the election!
It doesn’t take American money for Israelis to demonstrate against Netanyahu ... LOL ...
Israeli leftists don’t need Obama ... they do quite well on their own ... LOL ...
Israel has been under the threat of EXTINCTION ever since it was formed in 1948 ... and in very REAL terms that people in Israel have EXPERIENCED themselves. Again ... that’s from 1948 to the present! People have to “live” at some point along the way ... :-) ...
The leftists in Israel probably appreciate cash from outside the country ... but the leftists there have done QUITE WELL since the time of the very formation of Israel to the present day!
You don’t need polls to be manipulated when Israel was formed from leftists ... :-) ...
