Deputy U.S. Marshal Josie Wells, who was killed during a gunfire exchange with a fugitive Tuesday (March 10) in Baton Rouge, died of a gunshot wound to his neck, according to the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office. He was 27.
Coroner William "Beau" Clark released a preliminary report of the autopsy Wednesday (March 11) afternoon. The report labels the manner of death "homicide." The cause of death is listed as "exsanguination due to gunshot wound of neck."

Wells was from a law enforcement family. His father says he, his brother, and his three surviving sons all are in the field, and a daughter is studying criminal justice.

Very sad, only 27, same age as my son.

Prayers up for this young Marshall’s family. He looks to be a nice young man from a good family.
Not to worry, this administration will award this PERP with his own SS# and pay him some back taxes on what he would have earned in the last 6 years. And OBAMA will say: “ HE COULD HAVE BEEN MY SON, IF I HAD ONE”
The perp is dead. Saves a lot of taxpayer money.
