I live in the midst of people who can't swing a hammer, saw a board, repair plumbing or rewire appliances. They constantly tell me how dumb I am.

They have no concept of how much pure knowledge precedes the invention of computers.

I don’t know about “skills”, but as far as hobbies go they may be the least “hobbied” of the past 4 generations and I find that troubling.

We needed a study for this? I was just pretty much forced into hiring one. He’s next to useless. He requires more direct supervision than I have time or inclination to provide, and on things that aren’t difficult. They just require attention to detail, focus, and the ability to prioritize tasks and keep ahead of deadlines. He has taken on less than half the responsibilities the job entails, and he’s already floundering.

I would agree with that. I have some cousins who are Millenials and they have bupkis for hobbies. When any of the aforementioned cousins deso try a hobby, they become upset that they have to achieve competency through practice, practice, and more practice.
