Some armless, others hobbling on spindly prosthetic legs, Honduran migrants came to Mexico City this week to protest their plight. Maimed in Mexico when they tried to catch a precarious train to reach the United States, they feel forgotten, ignored and with little reason to live.
Our visa [to enter the U.S.] is our mutilation, our handicap, our lost arms and legs, said Jose Luis Hernandez, 29, of Progreso, Honduras. He fell off the train, known here as La Bestia the Beast in the northern border state of Chihuahua; caught under its wheels, Hernandezs leg, left arm and part of his right hand were severed from his body.

It is interesting they don’t think Mexico is the place that owes them anything. Since they lost their arms and stuff trying to catch a Mexican train, being in Mexico...

“Tough...Hop.”
That’s cruel. They should be transported in a gentle, leisurely manner to a place where they will get top-notch care.
I’m thinking a raft to Cuba.

My sympathy is long gone. I have more sympathy for a bank robber who gets shot while robbing a bank.
To: MeshugeMikey
GOOD! Serves them all right!
Too bad the train did not run over their trespassing heads!
Anyway, now they’re easier targets to shoot.

when I first laid eyes on that article..I could have sworn it was a carefully constructed PARODY a Satire of current attitudes...and events.
Sadly Satire has taken a back seat...to “surreality”

Yup. Such articles can no longer be given a cursory glance. The line between reality and parody are no longer quickly discernible in many things. :-)
