The number of Americans who live in a household with at least one gun is lower than it’s ever been, according to a major American trend survey that finds the decline in gun ownership is paralleled by a reduction in the number of Americans who hunt.
According to the latest General Social Survey, 32 percent of Americans either own a firearm themselves or live with someone who does, which ties a record low set in 2010. That’s a significant decline since the late 1970s and early 1980s, when about half of Americans told researchers there was a gun in their household.
The General Social Survey is conducted by NORC, an independent research organization based at the University of Chicago, with money from the National Science Foundation. Because of its long-running and comprehensive set of questions about the demographics, behaviors and attitudes of the American public, it is a highly regarded source of data about social trends. …

The tragedies have become so frequent and widespread that the term “tragic boating accident,” in the context of a total firearm loss, has acquired its own acronym, TBA. Saves a lot of time when discussing these frightful events.
Gun sales are off the charts; gun making is one of the few booming manufacturing businesses left in this country and stock prices have surged since the Marxist took office in 09.
If this survey is to be believed, it means that gun purchases are concentrating among gun enthusiasts and gun owners that fear tyrannical government. That not all bad; this would mean that the metrosexuals, trendies and Leftists are not buying guns. If/when martial law or its equivalent comes, they will be easy to round up and subjugated by the government. The zombies trying to escape the metroplexes will be unarmed and ripe for target practice.

If I did get one with “prize papers” that allowed import back into the U.S., I would have no idea what happened to them. I think my MIL might have thrown them out not knowing what it was.n after all, they both worked at Smith and Wesson before and after the war, so they knew next to nothing about pistols.

It’s a technique to marginalize gun owners. The opposite of “I think we can all agree...” The facts don’t matter, what is reported matters.
If some pollster or Doctor asks if you have guns in the house, of course say “no”. Why set yourself up for future government confiscation? I know it’s none of their business, but if you say you don’t want to answer that kind of question, they put you down as a “yes.”
