A chaplain who once ministered to Navy SEALs could be thrown out of the military after he was accused of failing to show tolerance and respect in private counseling sessions in regards to issues pertaining to faith, marriage and sexuality, specifically homosexuality and pre-marital sex, according to documents obtained exclusively by Fox News.

Simply put, belief is the antithesis ("the exact opposite ... joy is the antithesis of sorrow") of fact.
“Simply put, belief is the antithesis (”the exact opposite ... joy is the antithesis of sorrow”) of fact.”
No, it is not. One can believe in facts. Fiction is the antithesis of fact. Your pop-intellect jingoism just don’t fly, bubba.
Just a quick exercise for you:
Name any group of men ever, who lived in poverty and allowed themselves to be tortured and killed for something they knew was a lie.
Also - please give us some known historical facts, and how it is established that they are, indeed, facts.
I’m waiting....
Oh my, now you’re on the verge of unsettling the fiction in the poster’s mind which accounts for his mental stability. When you take away the delusions of grandeur, what will be left for them to hang onto, since they cannot face reality?
My tagline is a link to the book "Darwin's Ghost." The book is a modern update to Darwin's original work ... that is "free" and loaded with facts.
Happy reading!
Who told you that? Davy Jones?
what are the facts? How do you know Darwin even existed - did you ever shake his hand, or do you BELIEVE he existed? On what basis do you believe it?
My basis is "common sense" ... defined as "ordinary good sense or sound practical judgment," and also known as beyond belief.
bookmark to see how deep a hole can be dug.
You speak in equivocations that display neither facts nor intelligence.
I will do some of your work for you:
The simple fact is you BELIEVE Darwin existed.
You believe this because you have read books about him.
You believe this because you have read books by him.
You believe this because someone(s) you trust told you that he existed.
Now, I will leave it to you to tell me what the criteria is for establishing historical proof. What PROOF do you have that Darwin existed, so that we might establish it as fact?
The word "belief" is a noun and the word "believe" is a transitive verb.
As I've said, ... beliefs belong in church.
Active Duty ping.
You’re playing games with people. Why?
I am ready to leave the country, but my heritage is here. The other half won’t go. I am even ready to move to Israel.
No. Disagree. Beliefs determine your actions all the time. We are to be St. Andrews, you know.
Then keep your belief that Darwin existed in church.
Keep your beliefs in how life came into this world in church.
Keep your belief that you are intellectually superior in church.
BTW - to what church do you go when you want to exercise your beliefs?
The coward’s way of conceding defeat in a debate is to ignore the difficult questions - which is what you’ve done. But I will give you one more chance:
Explain to us all why you believe that Darwin existed. Tell us how you establish the fact. Prove to us that he existed, or we are left to understand that you just BELIEVE that he existed because you read it somewhere...
Funny how you started out touting your adherence to “facts”, but in a few short posts you’ve been exposed as an ignorant believer who, evidently, has never examined your beliefs but simply, blindly accept what someone else claims is true - like a superstition. Yet you have the unmitigated gall to belittle the beliefs of others...beliefs, btw, that are no doubt more founded in fact and examined more closely than your superstitions.
My beliefs belong wherever I want to take them. But I do urge you to keep your beliefs hidden...people will respect you more that way.
Let me guess ... You don’t own a dictionary.
Let ME guess, you can’t answer my questions.
Another tactic of a losing debater...shift the topic.
Ohhhh - I get it now....because one is a noun and the other is a verb you cannot manage to make the relational connection between “believe” and “belief”, let me help you:
What one believes is their belief
You believe Darwin existed; therefore, that Darwin existed is your belief.
As such, according to you, any discussions of Darwin, by you, should remain only in church. You don’t follow your own demands - you should remove your tagline, and should never have mentioned Darwin on this forum. KEEP YOUR BELIEFS IN CHURCH!!!
The main difficulty in achieving my goal has been to know what to leave out. The Origin marks the foundation of modern biology, and of large parts of geology as well. I have tried to reflect its breadth and have, no doubt, failed. My own volume tries to use Darwin's logic to illuminate the discoveries of today. It is not a history of evolutionary ideas, or of life; nor a biography of Darwin, or of animals and plants, but an argument that will, I trust, persuade my readers of the truth of evolution.
