SPANISH FORK, Utah (AP) A baby survived a car crash in a frigid Utah river after being strapped in a car seat upside-down for about 14 hours before being found by a fisherman, officers said.
The 18-month-old girl's condition was upgraded from critical to stable but critical condition at a Salt Lake City hospital, but her 25-year-old mother, Lynn Groesbeck of Springville, was found dead in the car, police said Sunday.

Alive? Ted Kennedy wasn’t driving, that’s for sure.
I sure hope the baby does OK. No matter what, she has lost her Mother.
The mother was driving, smacked an abutment and flipped the car upside down into the river (probably ice) and was killed. The 18 month old baby was strapped into a car seat and hanging upside down with the icy river flowing through the car for fourteen hours, half of that time in the dark, but the water never riding high enough to reach her, and lived. They were found by a fisherman the next day and the water was so cold three cops and four firemen who rescued them had to go to the hospital for hypothermia.
Wow.
Ted made sure his spawn didn’t survive.
Poor baby. Hope she has some good relatives to take care of her...
One of the better theories, to be sure...
I am amazed at how tough newborns can be. What a wonderful creation.
WOW is right. God bless them.
A very sad but wonderful story. I hope the child has good caregivers it take over.
True, I hope so too.
Cardinal O’Malley announced that the amazing survival of this baby is being submitted to Rome as the first of two required miracles in the canonization process for Edward Kennedy.
All miracles are to be attributed to God. The idea that humans deserve credit and raised above others and even elevated to demigods is sacrilege
Btw- lol
Edward Kennedy (D-HELL)?
