In a deliberate “show of force,” federal and local police forces raided a political meeting in Texas, fingerprinting and photographing all attendees as well as confiscating all cell phones and personal recording devices. Members of the Republic of Texas, a seccession movement dedicated to restoring Texas as an independent constitutional republic, had gathered Feb. 14 in a Bryan, Texas, meeting hall along with public onlookers. They were debating issues of currency, international relations and celebrating the birthday of one of their oldest members.

There was a documentary on YouTube about Texas that had a segment on them that I believe said that people accepted their coins because they were made of actual precious metals, which is a far cry from the paper or e-cash that we use.

It is blatantly illegal to coin money. That being said, if they stamped out weighed quantities of precious metals and put a stamp of authenticity on them, it is functionally a coin, but doesn't meet the prohibition of making actual coins.

They have my attention. We desperately need to come up with some medium of exchange that cuts Washington D.C. out of tampering with our stores of value.

Inflation is slowly thieving the value we put into our money. They are stealing our money through their bad economic policies.

How many raids in San Fran, Deeboristan and the like??

Oh, they’re only after ‘home grown’ (white/Christian) ‘terrorists’

Texas A&M is located in College Station, not Bryan Texas

I went to A&M. College Station and Bryan are right next to each other. Bryan is by far the larger of the two. College Station is hardly more than a few blocks around the Campus. They are often referred to as Bryan/College Station.

This is not the first run in with ROT that Texas has had. Back in the 90s they created a lot havoc in Texas with their fake courts and serving fake paper.

That culminated in 97 with a kidnapping and armed stand-off. Guv Bush convinced the federal agents to stay back allowing the Rangers and DPS to handle it. Some of them surrendered but a couple tried to escape into the desert and were killed.

ROT never ended, they just changed their techniques saying they were good ROT, different from the bad ROT that was causing all the problems.

Now they are back to their old tricks.

Back in those days ROT, militia, posse comitatus, sovereign citizens, etc were considered to be freaky fringe groups. Now they are considered to be mainstream GOP groups. The freepers worship Warlord Bundy and his militia for the armed stand-off with Clark County sheriff's dept. and BLM in Nevada.

“Thought crimes lead to SWAT raids.”
_____________

Actually, counterfeit court’s summons served on a banker and a judge by some whackos, led to a legitimate warrant being served by local, state and federal law enforcement.
