The nation’s first black president plans a speech Saturday from the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, the site of one of the movement’s stirring moments, and will refocus on last year’s fatal shooting by a white police officer of a black 18-year-old in Ferguson, Missouri.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
You mean Obama is protesting that the police didn’t shoot that 18 year old fast enough?
I agree. He should have been shot when he reached into the patrol car.
It's March, which should be Irish History Month (given that March 17 is St. Patrick's Day).
The civil rights marchers of the 1960s were marching for the right of young people of any color to rob convenience stores and try to shoot cops with their own guns, no doubt. That's why Ferguson is relevant to Selma.
