Hazzm, one of largest remaining non-jihadist Syrian rebel groups, decides to merge with Islamists rebels with which they have fought for weeks.
One of the main western-backed rebel groups announced on Sunday that it had dissolved itself and joined a larger Islamist alliance, weeks into a battle which saw it lose ground and men to more powerful al Qaeda insurgents.

The GOP could have stopped it, but they took the easy route—as usual. Seems they never paid attention—the easy way is rarely the best.
Obama's smug and condescending drivel at last month's National Prayer Breakfast:
Humanity has been grappling with these questions throughout history, Obama continued, and lest we get up on our high horse and think that this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ.
Anyone surprised?
‘Moderate’ muzzies merging with ‘militant’ muzzies?
Wait until the ‘peaceful’ muzzies also join in.
Gee, what a surprised.
I’m talking to all you “we have to get involved in this fight” people. I bet you are all just so surprised, aren’t you?
SHAZAM!
About 75% of people who post here.
Why? Assad is not our friend either.
Let ‘em all kill each other and let Allah sort it out. Muzzies killing Muzzies is always good.
About 75% of people who post here think we have allies in the region or people who we can trust to arm and train.
They really truly think that.
What I’ve been saying for years. But it seems to fall on deaf ears.
The GOP are on board with all this!
Assad protected the Christians for one thing. Assad fought against these Islamists and Islamic Terrorist who want to create an Islamic Caliphate, for another thing. Assad won’t let them use Syria for a launching pad for an Islamic Caliphate state! And that’s as long as he’s getting support to fight them!
Just to let you know ... who did the Christians run to for protection when the Islamists were taking over territory? They ran to Assad for protection.
That’s why we should be supporting Assad and not the Islamists ... and ... we certainly should not let the Islamists win under any situation! Just look at the MESS that we have now from ISIS.
Israel can work with Assad, but not with the Islamists and ISIS!!
Oh ... one more thing about that. Nations do NOT have “friends”. They only have “mutual interests” with other nations.
FORGET anything you know about “friends” when dealing with nations. “Friends” are for people. “Mutual interests” are for nations. Many people get confused that way.
Assad is no more trustworthy than any other Muslim in the region. It’s just that simple. Maybe Christians had no where else to turn but that doesn’t mean he’s trustworthy ... it just shows how screwed Christians are in the region. They need their own defensible homeland like the Jews have ... not some untrustworthy mother duckling to run to when in trouble. Assad would turn his own mother over to ISIS if it were in his best interest. Christians had better toughen up and realize the situation they are in ... and fast.
We have no mutual interests with Muslims in the Middle east. None. They would just as soon chop our heads off ... AFTER we have given them billions of dollars and arms and training of course.
It’s not whether he’s trustworthy, it’s that we don’t want an Islamic Caliphate there, called ISIS ... :-) ...
That’s why I really didn’t care if Saddam took Kuwait or not, we should never have gotten involved in Intra-Arab squabbles in the first place.
Exactly my point. It’s bad when you lose faith in the upper chain of command. Our immediate commanders are doing everything they can to keep it together, but it’s damned near impossible at this point.
