Jeb ‘de Blasio’ Bush addresses CPAC

Jeb Bush reminded a CPAC audience what a conservative isn't; Ted Cruz of Texas reminded them what a conservative is.

Friday, Governor Jeb Bush began to speak before the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in National Harbor, Md., when a sudden shuffling of feet signaled the exodus of conservative Tea Party activists from the Patomac Ballroom of the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center.

Bush now knows what New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio feels when an army of police officers turn their backs to him at every speech.

William Temple, a Tea Party organizer from Brunswick, Georgia, led the walkout “to exercise our right to go to the bathroom at the same time,” he told the Washington Times.

The demonstration underscored the growing conservative anger over squishy, moderate, establishment Republicans claiming the “conservative” mantel.

For instance, Bush addressed President Obama’s unconstitutional executive amnesty with the usual, tangential, establishment response. “The president did use authority he didn’t have,” Bush said anemically, “the courts are going to overrule that.”

That statement was tacit support for Speaker John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s surrender of congressional, legislative authority—not to mention the power of the purse—to Obama, rendering Congress irrelevant.

Earlier the same day, conservative talk-radio host Laura Ingram told a CPAC crowd, “Why don’t we [Republicans] just call it quits, and Jeb and Hillary can run on the same ticket?”

Thursday, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas added much needed clarity when speaking to a CPAC audience:

“If a candidate tells you they oppose Obamacare, fantastic! When have you stood up against it? If a candidate tells you they oppose the debt and debt ceiling that are crushing our kids and grandkids, terrific! When have you stood up and fought against it? If a candidate says they oppose President Obama’s illegal and unconstitutional executive amnesty, terrific! When have you stood up and fought against it? If a candidate tells you they support the First Amendment, freedom of speech, religious liberty; that they support the Second Amendment, the right to keep and bear arms, fantastic! When have you stood up and fought for them? … If the candidate tells you they support life, if the candidate tells you they support [the traditional definition of] marriage, When have you stood and fought? If a candidate tells you they stand with the nation of Israel, terrific! When have you stood and fought? If a candidate says that they oppose Iran acquiring nuclear weapons capability, fantastic! When have you stood and fought? Actions speak far, far louder than words. We need to look to people who walk the walk and don’t just talk the talk.”

Cruz is proof that a man is distinguished by his enemies. He is hated by the leaders of his own party, not because he is “extreme,” but because he has a pulse. Cruz believes the GOP should live up to its billing as an “opposition party” and not remain a rubber stamp to President Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi’s destructive policies.

That speech was the closest Cruz has come to declaring his candidacy for president.

Meanwhile, the New York Times reported that “Mr. Bush has vowed to run a ‘joyful’ presidential campaign free from the seamier side of party politics.” That’s mainstream media-speak for “devoid of ideas,” like the last two Republican presidential races.

Republican rank-and-file voters should expect another humiliating defeat if they nominate a Bush-like, lickspittle, mainstream media-approved candidate for president.

I can almost picture a confident Hillary Clinton choosing curtains for the White House family quarters.

I just saw the Claudio Onsario story on CNBC’s “American Greed”. After Claudio got busted for bilking investors out of hundreds of millions of dollars, Jeb — a best buddy — suddenly divested himself and repaid several $100,000 of money Claudio had paid him for his lobbying services with investors. The DNC(!) also refunded several $100,000 of monies from this guy. Ditto some other shady, big money and influence peddling names. Think of it as, Jeb “I am not a crook” Bush wants the keys to the White House when he needs to be checking out the inside of a cell.

I don’t recall if Jeb paid back part or all of the money he received from Onsario.

According to the American Greed report, Jeb Bush paid back about 50% of the money he took from Onasario. The CNBC program did not elaborate further because: 1) it was about Onasrio’s crimes and 2) Jeb’s part was small potatoes [that is, influence pedaling and name dropping] to get investors and participants for Onasario’ scams.

I do not believe Jeb Bush will win in the primary. But if he does, the Democrats can make a huge thing out of him being involved with Osorio and returning half the money - especially since they will have MSM on their side. I recall how the media went ballistic when Ann Coulter made a minor innuendo regarding John Edwards and covered it day after day - that was prior to the scandal breaking.

Jeb is “smarmy” — that is, he reminds me of the fake car salesman, Joe Izuzu. I don't think he's got a core value in his body. He's never going to be ready for POTUS no mater what George H.W. Bush, Barbara Bush, or George W. Bush think or how much the rich donors contribute.
