MNSBC's Morning Joe reported this morning that President Bill Clinton hosted an Israeli prime minister, Shimon Peres, in his election against Benjamin Netanyahu. President Obama is refusing to meet with Netanyahu next week because, he says, it's too close to Israel's election day.
"It's not unprecedented," the MSNBC host said of an American president hosting an Israel prime minister during his reelection campaign. "In 1996, the Clinton administration hosted Shimon Peres for a U.S. visit while he was in the midst of an election against Benjamin Netanyahu."
"Democratic presidents have always loathed Benjamin Netanyahu," said the other MSNBC host, Joe Scarborough.

Funny how the left constantly rails against perceived Republican hypocrisy....
This is true, probably for the same reasons that they always loathed Ronald Reagan. When a Democrat president like Obama, Clinton or Carter looks at strong leaders like Ronald Reagan and Benjamin Netanyahu, the unmistakable contrast reveals that they themselves are pussies, and pretenders.
“The issue is never the issue. The issue is the revolution.”
Clinton hates Netanyahu, and sent his campaign team to Israel to get Netanyahu voted out of office. Now Obama is doing the same thing, working to get Netanyahu voted out. Hopefully Israel will see through this, this time.
In order to be a hypocrite, one must have standards to ignore.
Thanks SJackson.
Y'know, one would *think* that, if a show on MSNBC could check out some background, and it involved something not even 20 years ago, that the rest of the so-called news media would have noticed this before now.
The only logical conclusions possible are, Incompetence, or two They are Partisan Shills. There are no other possible conclusions.

> Newly elected Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared a new policy following the many suicide attacks by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad since 1993, including a wave of suicide attacks prior to the Israeli elections of May 1996. Netanyahu declared a tit-for-tat policy which he termed “reciprocity,” whereby Israel would not engage in the peace process if Arafat continued with what Netanyahu defined as the Palestinian revolving door policy, i.e., incitement and direct or indirect support of terrorism. The Hebron and Wye Agreements were signed during this period, after Israel considered that its conditions were partially met.
Of possible interest.
And the previous DiC also sent his campaign lackeys to Israel to help Perez
