This is a bunch of crappy half-truths. The black family does little to reinforce the importance of education and finishing school. Black males see it as a badge of honor to father a child, but rarely have any intention of helping to support that child. The War on Poverty has thrown trillions of dollars at poverty, with a disproportionate share going to blacks, but recent GOA reports show poverty is worse now than when the WoP started back in the 1960's. Why? Because the programs are designed to make blacks dependent on gov't welfare rather than address the causes of poverty. How does giving away free cell phones help eliminate poverty?

States are finally starting to wake up. Some states now require you to show up for a state job, perhaps cleaning toilets in public buildings, but a job nonetheless, before you can collect welfare payments. And, guess what's happening to welfare payments in those states that have such a policy? As to the black social problems and the decline of the black family unit, I see no effort on the part of the black community to address these problems. And until such effort is forthcoming, I see no reason to support the current welfare programs that pay money to able-bodied workers.
