There are lots of interesting storylines in that whole situation. For what it's worth, the guy who appears a number of times in that video clip for the Quebec Nordiques -- Marcel Aubut -- was really a jerk in his own right. He was instrumental in blocking a sale of the Nordiques in 1987 to a buyer who wanted to move the team out of Quebec, and ended up leading a new ownership group to buy the team for a lot less than the other buyer was offering. He then turned around a few years after the Lindros debacle and sold the team to a buyer who moved them to Denver where they became a dominant power in the NHL in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He may have been the most universally despised man in the province of Quebec after that.
I remember Roger Neilson’s assessment of Eric’s playing tactics: “There’s a major penalty on every shift.” He was fond of spearing opponent’s in the groin.
Is this the same lawyer who became his “butler?” Bobby Clarke’s sarcastic screed about that belongs in the HHOF!
