MUNICH Old copies of the offending tome are kept in a secure poison cabinet, a literary danger zone in the dark recesses of the vast Bavarian State Library. A team of experts vets every request to see one, keeping the toxic text away from the prying eyes of the idly curious or those who might seek to exalt it.

Censorship is never the answer.
In my opinion censorship has been a disaster for Germany.
The January 2016 plan is to reprint Das Kampf (720-pages) with a 1300-page addition....a critique (page by page) of the original document. Imagine a document that was awful dry and boring to start with....now making it over 2,000 pages?
No one will ever read the document, that’s my bet.
My accountant has a signed copy of Mein Kampf in his library. Not that he is a nazi or anything, but it is pretty cool that he has a signed copy.
Reading that book was one of the most laborious things I ever did.
Global Antisemitism keeps going up and up and up. More Jews are moving to Israel. The world is on the verge of a massive economic collapse and world war 3.
Expect a new Nimrod (world dictator) to show up on the world scene to make everything better.
And I bet the Nimrod 2.0 will also be a descendant of Cush just like the original!
Is Common Sense by Thomas Paine or The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith on the U fo M list of dangerous books?
Censorship is never the answer.
Yes, I agree 100%!
Growing up, there was a copy of Mein Kampf on our bookshelves. My father served in WW2. The book was very thick, red and white and had a big swastika on the binding. I was always afraid of that book. But I asked for it when my parents passed on, as it was the one book that I remembered, and it was nowhere to be found. Not sure I would want to read it anyway.
As if no German has the frigging internet.
Pointless thing to ban. You cant wash that $hit out of the collective national mouths by pretending like it isnt there. You might as well put it out and stomp out any attempt early that tries to bring National Socialism back to power.
Anti-Semitism is on the rise.
Maybe Jimmy Carter can write a foreword.
If you can stomach it, on YouTube there is an audio version of Mein Kampf out there.
Michigan had the most racist and anti-semitic grafiti on the library and bathroom walls...worse than all the few good sized surrounding colleges COMBINED. Funny. Also the most weirdos there.
There’s a German wry comedy show, “Crime Scene Cleaner”, that had the cleaner going to a private Nazi club to clean up the blood from an accident, and the resulting dialogue revolves around “legal”, “private”, etc.
Berkley East or Ithaca West?
I had a relative in the early 1900s who was a wizard of some sort in the Michigan KKK. All of the old folks are long dead but I remember hearing about it as a child. No one ever really talked about it.
