More than 16,900 federal employees took home in excess of $200,000 in base salary in 2014, according to a partial database of federal salary data.
The information, compiled by FedSmith.com using data from the Office of Personnel Management and other agencies, shows the annual compensation for every civilian federal worker, save those at the Defense Department. The number of workers earning more than $200,000 represented about 1.6 percent of employees on the list and is up from about 15,000 who cleared that salary in 2013. It also makes up a slightly higher percentage of the employees on this list.

When I was growing up, the president of the United States had a salary of $200,000. I used to think that was a lot of money.

Which theoretically should be right for Cardiothoracic surgeons, anesthesiologists and certain other specialists and sub-specialists.
Will withhold judgment until there is a breakdown.
That being said, not at all sure we are getting what we are pay for, quality wise.

Bear in mind that any federal job which cannot reasonably be justified under Congress’s constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers probably should not exist except for eqivalent, legal voter-approved jobs in the state governments.

Well you take the President, Vice President, the cabinet, the Senate Majority and Minority Leader, all heads of departments and deputies and there you have it.

And when I was growing up the President’s salary was $100,000.....hum.....now he makes $400,000 and all the free vacays he wants (or should I say the bucket ass he’s married to does)....
