As a Christian in North Dakota I find your comment apt. I would prefer them to pound sand in Saudi Arabia or Iran.

Exactly. We are losing battles here on earth, but we (rather God) wins the war for all eternity. I know what side i’d rather be on. And God told us to expect this, and to be prepared for it. American Christians don’t know anything about real persecution.

Exactly. Our battles are not against an earthly system so much as they are against the prince of the air, powers and principalities. The Great Commission was not to set up the Millennium ourselves, but to fish for the souls of men, drawing them from the gates of hell. If we can fight a social/political system that’s not conducive to that, all the better, but when we can’t, it wasn’t the prime directive anyway.
a little late for my reply manc, but yes, that woman is a beacon of hope and she has courage that is rare today.
I know there are more out there like her. But the question is, are there enough?

And yes, I am in constant struggle about whether what our founding fathers did was right or wrong. I’ve been taught in school that it was absolutely right, but the more I read the bible, the more it appears they sinned by fighting against the King with arms. I’m really trying to find scripture to support what they did, but not only do I not find it, but I find scripture supporting the opposite.
