When Pastor Adam Phillips moved across the country with his wife two years ago and planted a new congregation in Portland, Ore., he was heeding the call of his Christian roots, an Evangelical Covenant tradition that today has a primary mission “to reach young people, engage a growing multiethnic population, and develop vibrant local churches that make disciples.”
“Pastor Adam,” as his congregation at Christ Church: Portland calls him, was well suited for such a mission. Young, familiar as much with Tumblr as with theological tomes, and a former director of faith mobilization for the ONE Campaign, the antipoverty group cofounded by U2’s Bono, Mr. Phillips brought a charisma and enthusiasm common to generations of evangelical ministers.

few things make me happier to be gen x (almost BB) then seeing the millennial generation.
I haven’t ever been to a gay pride parade so I ask this of anyone who may know.
Homosexuals are seeking much recognition from churches, churches they claim to regularly attend and be members in good standing with (sometimes in the clergy, even).
In the parades, are there ever any ‘gay’ Christian groups that march? Do they profess the message of Jesus Christ, of charitable works, of sin and redemption? I hate to say it, but these "churches" that use this PC "cultural relevance" nonsense to make disciples...aren't.

Self-proclaimed homosexual Christian “evangelicals” need to be bringing Christ’s message to the homosexual community, not the homosexual message to Christ’s community.
The usual Protestant, "That's what Scripture says, but that's not what it means", approach in action.
The queer agenda will soon be accepted by nearly all Protestant and Protestant derived groups as well as the Catholic in Name Only crowd the same way they all adopted contraception. Some segment of the older generation will resist but as they pass away it'll be just another case where none of them even remember they once preached and taught against such evils.
Amen. And therein is the problem. They’re not worshiping the God of the Bible, but a “god” of their imaginations. They’re therefore essentially committing idolatry, but falsely prophesying that the God of the Bible sees nothing wrong with behaviors He has already judged as abomination (disgusting) and worthy of hell. False prophets and their followers don’t come to a good end.
Christ said many people will go to hell and few people will go to heaven, so most people will only know God’s wrath in the hereafter. They’ll be looking for that imaginary kindly indulgent grandfather that doesn’t exist.

Just like in Jeremiah’s day, we have many prophets prophesying falsely in our day saying, “Peace, peace; when there is no peace.”
I wish I could get every churchgoer in this country to listen to this strong warning from an unsophisticated but wise old Baptist. He preached it almost forty years ago, but it’s even more relevant today.

And that was exactly what the left wanted, to force “relevancy” on the churches until they ran out of “relevancy”. The churches who only want to stay relevant in God’s Word, thrive, at the margins. What will these nominal Christian churches accept next in the name of “relevancy”?
Exactly right. It’s the left’s tried-and-true tactic of infiltration then destruction from within. They’re just like termites.

I observed part of a Sodomite Parade in Washington, DC once. I wasn't specifically looking for "gay christian" groups (I was looking for the black pillar with the letter "M" on top) but I don't recall seeing any such groups.
Just lots of prancing perverts.

I remember Lester Roloff. He was one of those old time wise Baptists that taught me when I was young. His sermon The Axehead was terrific.
