It’s either a decoy and it did its job because they think they stopped something, or it’s a make-out place because there were no natural caves in the area - nothing like a power-equipped make-out place to impress the girls...
Yeah, nothing like the drone of a generator and the smell of exhaust and wet dirt to get her going.
