Russian Army Commander Alexander Lentsov leading terrorist offensive in Ukraine?

President of Russia Vladimir Putin scoffed at the defeat of the Ukrainian military in Debaltseve, pointing out that it was especially shameful, since they’ve lost the battle “to yesterday’s coal miners and tractor operators.” In reality, Ukraine is fighting against Russian military that is hiding behind the fraying veil of local rag-tag team of “separatists.” Russia is using its most sophisticated weaponry in eastern Ukraine, including the truck-mounted SA-22 surface-to-air missile system (Pantsir-S1). Ukraine does not possess these types of weapon systems.

The so-called “rebels” are comprised of two key ingredients. The first component consists of Russian soldiers, whose participation is covert and their deaths are considered a “state secret.” Another component includes paid local militiamen. The “separatist movement” was artificially fomented in Ukraine, since it did not exist before Russia commenced its Hamas-style invasion.

Contrary to President Putin’s gleeful taunting of the Ukrainian military, they weren’t facing off against humble tractor drivers and coal miners. In fact, it appears as though Russian soldiers and local terrorists of the so called “Lugansk People's Republic” (LPR) are being commanded by no other than Lieutenant General Alexander Lentsov, Deputy Commander of the Russian Armed Ground Forces. Lentsov was initially invited to Ukraine to seek a peaceful resolution and subsequently involved himself in observing the adherence to the latest ceasefire. Instead, terrorist groups under his leadership reportedly led the bloody siege of Debaltseve.

Hate to say it, but this seems to be just a regurgitation of a Kiev Post article from a month ago.

The “Chief Coordinator” for Russian Military support for the Rebels is likely a retired Russian Spetnaz officer by the name of Vladimir Yefimov.

He runs a foundation called the Sverdlovsk Oblast Fund for Special Forces Veterans, and has been openly recruiting Spetz veterans for the rebels since the beginning, as well as setting up a Russia-wide fund-raising network.

He’s likely got both the history, contacts, and “gravitas” to make it work, without “Official” Russian government invlovement, or at least “plausible Deniability”.

His name has popped up several times over the last year. And he isn’t the only one, either. there are several networks run by different people, like Tsarov or Zhirinovsky, in Russia funneling money and volunteers to the rebels.

Invasion of Georgia part 2. I will be in Belarus and Ukraine in a couple weeks. I’ll let everyone know how it’s going.

I wonder if it would be illegal to sign up to fight for this group? Obama obviously has not declared it a terrorist outfit - maybe there is room for some tax free bounties to be made;)

I listened to Lentsov on YouTube. He was at Debaltseve. Merely “visiting” of course. Yet he was speaking to a formation of Ukr. POWs...

That wasn’t Lentsov.
Lentsov was in Kiev that day, meeting with the OSCE.

That was debunked days ago.

No, your comments are false. The reports of Lentsov commanding the Russian invasion of the Ukraine are not debunked at all. On the contrary, Lentsov is in fact in command of the Russian campaign in Eastern Ukraine.

By all accounts, General Lentsov was confirmed to be in the Donbas. "35 miles away from Debaltseve" is the statement most commonly heard. However, where did he go from there?

The pics/video sure as heck look like him. Is it possible Russia using a body-double?

Just more bad euromaidan propaganda.
The guy with the prisoners is Nail Nurullin, a rebel officer from Lugansk.

And again, Lentsov was in Kiev meeting with the OSCE while that pic was taken.
