As if U.S.-Israeli relations weren’t strained enough, reports have surfaced that the Obama administration may be taking steps to subvert Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s scheduled visit next month to address Congress.

The Associated Press reported that the administration is considering options short of the president delivering a speech to Congress rebutting the prime minister’s remarks. The AP story said:
Among them: a presidential interview with a prominent journalist known for coverage of the rift between Obama and Netanyahu, multiple Sunday show television appearances by senior national security aides and a pointed snub of America’s leading pro-Israel lobby, which is holding its annual meeting while Netanyahu is in Washington, according to the officials.

Hmmmm. Childish? More like infantile. How about you invite Bibi over and act all charming like and then excuse yourself for just a second and then head to the golf course leaving him sitting there. That’s about what this amounts to. A form of bullying? You betcha. Bibi needs to send a message that if the lyin’ king isn’t going to be any help then don’t bother calling.

Call it “tin hat” theory, but it wouldn’t surprise me if there was some sort major catastrophe somewhere within the U.S. to take the lime light away from the Netanyahu address and, that our own so-called government was behind it. NOTHING, repeat NOTHING would surprise me.
Importantly, the Republicans not only need to video the whole speech *and* the audience, using screen bugs to show the names of the missing democrats when showing their empty seats; but they should also invite every prominent Jewish leader in the US to attend; and print thousands of DVDs of the event for Jewish communities in the US and Israel.
In short, they should give it the publicity of FDR’s declaration of war before congress. Like it was the most important speech given to congress in this century.
It matters. Both to the Republicans and to Israel and to the Jews. A formative event in Jewish and American history.
I don’t think the president can speak to congress unless he is invited to do so.

I think it’s a mistake to characterize this as ‘just obama’, as this problem is endemic among liberals. I fear it’s a progressive issue extending among some republicans as well.

Ithink the Mossad knows everything there is to know about Obama. That is why the Dems are so worried about Bibi’s speech. They are all afraid he will spill the beans. Up to now, it has been advantageous for them to keep the truth to themselves. But now that Obama is plying footsie with Iran all bets are off.
Great idea, princess. I will add that to my Sunday prayers today, and until the speech. i’ll also pray for Netanyahu’s safety. I think he is doing the Lord’s work by encouraging Jews to return to Israel also.
