Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a prospective Republican presidential contender, said Saturday he does not know whether President Obama is a Christian.
I dont know, Walker said in an interview at the JW Marriott hotel in Washington, where he was attending the winter meeting of the National Governors Association.
Told that Obama has frequently spoken publicly about his Christian faith, Walker maintained that he was not aware of the presidents religion.
Ive actually never talked about it or I havent read about that, Walker said, his voice calm and firm. Ive never asked him that, he added. Youve asked me to make statements about people that I havent had a conversation with about that. How [could] I say if I know either of you are a Christian?
Walker said such questions from reporters are reflective of a broader problem in the nations political-media culture, which he described as fixated on issues that are not relevant to most Americans.
To me this is a classic example of why people hate Washington and increasingly they dislike the press, he said. The things they care about dont even remotely come close to what youre asking about.
Walker said he did not believe that most Americans care about such matters.People in the media will [judge], not everyday people, he said. I would defy you to come to Wisconsin. You could ask 100 people, and not one of them would say that this is a significant issue.
After the interview was completed, Walker spokeswoman Jocelyn Webster telephoned The Post to say the governor was trying to make a point of principle by not answering such kinds of questions, not trying to cast doubt on Obamas faith.
Of course the governor thinks the president is a Christian, she said.He thinks these kinds of gotcha questions distract from...

Jocelyn Webster was a damned idiot for calling back and groveling. Fire her, she doesn’t have sense obviously,,,
He should have used Hillary’s “I cannot recall” and then the press would just move on. Just like with Hillary.
I seriously doubt Scott went to Sunday School with Obammy. Just a hunch.
Whatever became of investigative journalism and WaPo’s attempts to do same in a fair and even handed manner.
How you say.. Wild goose chase.. Much mildew over nothing?
The Left and its enablers never fail to amaze.. Or deliver.
Uh-huh. Surrrrrrrrrre they would.
I would like for Barak Obama to be pointedly asked about his Christian faith.
1. When did you first begin to read the Bible?
2. Who taught you the basics of your need for salvation?
3. Who baptized you?
4. When were you baptized?
5. Where were you baptized?
Obama was raised as a Muslim until he was 8 or 9. When he went to live with his Mom and grandparents, he was around communists. From what I have read, his grandparents were atheists.
Where did he begin to learn about Christ and from whom?
The press should’ve aksed Walker if he thought Bill was faithful to Hitlery.
:-)
The media are in the hip pocket of the Democrat party, which is why I doubt there will ever be another free and fair presidential election in the United States. In the next election, any Republican who consents to take part in a televised “debate” or submit to interviews with these media apparatchiks is a fool.
O-Bummer being corrected by the press....

6. What were you thinking when you sat in Fred Sanford’s so-called “church” for 20-some years? Really.
Is the Obama a Christian or a muslim? What race is he? Where
was he born? Did he really finish college? What is his real
name? Who is his real father? Is he an American citizen? When
was he born? Does he have a SS#? What do we really know
about this clown fraud that is irrefutable?
How about “Well I don’t know if he’s a Christian, but he sure doesn’t act like he is!”
Who paid for college?
What kind of student aid?
Clearly a "Gotcha" question asked by some horse's ass trying to get Walker to say something controversial.
Has SW been asked what newspapers and magazines he reads?
Funny you should ask.
Now I'll ask you one. Wasn't Jeremiah Wright a Muslim before Trinity Baptist?
Kinda makes one think, don't it?
Is he a Christian?
Not a chance.
“The press shouldve aksed Walker if he thought Bill was faithful to Hitlery.”
That’s a great comeback.
