After NBC News suspended anchor Brian Williams for erroneously claiming that he was nearly shot down in a helicopter while covering the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, Fox News host Bill O'Reilly went on a tear. On his television show, the top-rated cable news anchor declared that the American press isn't "half as responsible as the men who forged the nation." He bemoaned the supposed culture of deception within the liberal media, and he proclaimed that the Williams controversy should prompt questioning of other "distortions" by left-leaning outlets. Yet for years, O'Reilly has recounted dramatic stories about his own war reporting that don't withstand scrutiny - even claiming he acted heroically in a war zone that he apparently never set foot in. ...

Let’s add Geraldo for a perfect trifecta.
I hope this is the beginning of accountability for all of journalism.
Yeah, Mother Jones is a nice, non biased source. BOR never said he was there, he said he reported on the war.
“Undisclosed”? I heard it was 7 million.
He came across as a John Davidson type back then, except that he was trying harder. Kind of like Geraldo Rivera. I didn't take him seriously.
I not sure some people talk on Fox news facebook yes he was in Argetnia in 1980s he wasn’t able to war zone one dude that know is Geraldo Rivera he was there he almost kick out of Argentina
Generals got tick off with him LOL!
OMG I remember him on Inside Edition sometime also Hard Copy was another show
A Current affair with Maury Povitch
Williams “erroneously reported”? Mmmkay
True. BO is right that he never claimed to have been in the Falklands, but witnessed the coup that overthrew Leopoldo Galtieri and ended the war. This doesn’t even come close to Brian Williams. corn is a serial liar, and I’m no BO fan. This is a hit piece
BOR is not a journalist, he is a bloviator by trade.
Exactly.
Not to mention....this is from what, 30 years ago? And....it’s from Mother Jones AND David Corn.
NO THANKS!!
We need to learn to play like the lefties....never let a crisis/scandal/problem go to waste. They *waste* no time digging around for bones to (try to) shame the right.
For the record, I have always hated David Corn and KAtrina Vandenhuevel. They are the worst of the worst.
I guess you wouldn’t mind Juan Williams, or, Geraldo, taking his place?
Remember he attempted to trash FR, having his lackeys pull cached, pre-"removed by moderator" or "No Thanks" posts as examples of "hate".
Then he harped on a group of high-schoolers for having a private "prom", rather than going to the school's. He went on for days about them, instead of just giving them 15 seconds of one pin-head segment, and moving on.
Perhaps the worm has turned?
A Current affair with Maury Povitch
Yes! You could be right! Maybe it was Inside Edition that O'Reilly was on.
My recollection was that someone - the federal government, or some TV industry group - had mandated the creation of a "family time" on weekday nightly television. It was after the national news, but before Prime Time (which was the name of one of the shows, in Philadelphia).
During this time, TV stations were supposed to air "family-friendly" do-gooder type programming.
Shows like Inside Edition, A Current Affair, Hard Copy, Prime Time, etc., were syndicated to fill this niche time slot.
Mary Hart, Nancy Glass, and John Tesh were some of the other personalities seen on these shows.
BO kept on throwing rocks at Brian and would not let up.
He had that Schadenfreude gloat all over him.
He should have known when to stop, but he didn’t. Now he has the whole MSM after his ass.
if you read past “Mother Jones” you wasted valuable time.
As far as I know, BO has actually been annoyingly lenient with Williams decrying those who celebrated his demise.
BOR should respond by taking a few weeks off to fight ISIS with the Kurds, and send lots of video.
I don’t care for BO myself but, I can read through their drivel...
I agree 100%. I find his grasp of the political issues very superficial and his grasp of facts very fluid. His "facts" are very fluid.
If Mother Jones is accurate in what they say, he needs to be gone. If he is gone we have not lost a conservative.
I would like the new show to say, "The Ugly Truth by Newt Gingrich." It will not happen but I can dream.
